They make it sound like the invaders were the ones killed:
OT sleuths can fill in the details since WAFB/WBRZ and Advocate all suck.
ETA- 12 hours and still no official statements or dependable news.
Prayers to the families involved and the officers doing their duties.

Victim/Suspect Identified in Weekend Incident Livingston Parish Sheriff Jason Ard releases more details into this weekend’s deadly incident in the Denham Springs area. Sheriff Ard says, ‘There are certain times in law enforcement when you can’t give out too many details because it will jeopardize the investigation. This is one of those times. But, here’s what I can tell you: The VICTIM in this case: Beaux A. Bailey DOB: 1/22/82 Denham Springs, LA The SUSPECT in this case: Ted L. Bourn DOB: 7/25/80 Tupelo, MS (SEE PHOTO ATTACHED) The initial call came in as a home invasion. You may have heard me say before – we’re only as good as the information we receive. Well, we do not believe this was a random home invasion based on the evidence we have now obtained. We believe the suspect intentionally targeted the victim. There was an exchange of gunfire between the two men. Both suffered gunshot wounds. Both died as a result. The suspect in this case is from Mississippi which means our investigation expanded well beyond the borders of Livingston Parish. Detectives traveled to Lee County, Mississippi. I do need to say thank you to Lee County Sheriff Jim Johnson for his assistance on this investigation. There, we were able to collect evidence – which includes electronic devices. Those detectives are now on their way back to Livingston Parish. Then, we have to process this evidence – which takes time. As far as why the victim was targeted, we don’t know why – yet. The reason why? The suspect obviously can’t be questioned. In this case, the victim is helping us to solve his own murder by leading us to this suspect and to this trail of evidence which we are continuing to follow. We are working to confirm a motive - that is one of the reasons this is taking so much time. We are staying in close contact with the victim’s immediate family members. Our thoughts and prayers are with this family. Please be patient. This is shaping up to be a long and drawn out investigation. I want answers and closure for this family – just as much as everyone else.’ This investigation is ongoing. More arrests are possible. UPDATE: (as of 4:45p.m. on June 10, 2018) Sheriff Jason Ard confirms that the investigation into this morning’s incident is ongoing at this hour. Sheriff says, ‘While, at this time, I can not provide you with specific details know that I am working closely with our veteran detectives in the field. This case is taking some interesting turns & we are continuing to simply follow the evidence. I ask for your patience as we do what you rely on us to do - investigate & solve crimes in our parish. To do that, I must allow our detectives time & I must protect the integrity of this and every LPSO case. I am going to wait until all the FACTS are in before I share what happened at that home in the 9000 block of Ridgeway Avenue this morning. As for the fatalities, I can confirm 2 people died in this morning’s incident. At this time, I can not identify the two individuals pending notification of next of kin. You will see an increased presence of LPSO deputies in & around the area overnight. I can tell you, based on what I know so far, I do not believe those living in the area have anything to fear. But, I am being overly cautious. Know that we are getting answers & I expect that you’ll hear from me soon.’ ORIGINAL: (as of 10a.m. on June 10, 2018) Sheriff Jason Ard confirms that an investigation is underway in the Denham Springs area at this hour. Sheriff says, ‘Around 7:00 a.m., deputies were dispatched to Ridgeway Avenue (located off of 4H Club Road) in reference to a home invasion. I can confirm 2 fatalities at this hour. Veteran LPSO detectives are on scene. This investigation is ongoing.’ No additional details at this time.

Someone broke into a house on 4h club!?! I'd bet there isn't one single house off of that Rd that doesn't have a firearm.

My thoughts exactly. I can’t imagine someone thinking that was a good place for breaking in.
Maybe a domestic dispute misnamed?

The people breaking into houses aren't exactly rocket scientists.

For Sure.
It's at the end of cul-de-sac with just 2 big houses on that street. Early Sunday morning? This dude had a reason to be there and wanted the homeowner to be there too. Not a random crime of opportunity.

Could be anything. Being a New house, could be a pissed off subcontractor or....
As the OT suggests, The Owner boned intruder's wife. Anything. Crazy shite though.

I believe stupid is a form of suicide.
In this case stupid did the deed.

Are you saying it’s significant that both the homeowner and intruder were armed? And that alone means it was personal?
Posted on 6/10/18 at 1:06 pm to ell_13
so who was it the good guys or the bad guys? Should know something by now..
