Very well said. Also a problem I find with libertarians although I do identify as one. They seem to constantly point to “perfect” as being the enemy of “good/better”.
Like they can’t accept anything unless it’s libertarian utopia. Biggest obstacle facing the “movement” in my view.

He made the case artfully. He boxed the opposition in a corner . He essentially announced weeks ago there would be tariffs. Which sent Free Traders into an insane meltdown. Then he got the G6 on record that tariffs suck and are inherently horrific and unfair. Then he mind fricked them by saying we want no tariffs sending the G6 screaming in defense of tariffs.
And now, all the reactionary Progstains on this thread are criticizing what he said without having heard it, calling a demand for FREE TRADE “ authoritarian “ . It’s fricking perfect . He’s boxed his domestic opponents into supported gigantic trade deficits and tariffs that CRUSH the American worker and has them defending Chinese, Canadian, Mexican and Euro tariffs. Holy shite , he completely wrecked them and they are too vainglorious to even realize. Lol.
FTR, it might have been his best moment to date, we will be discussing the Charlavois press conference for years to come.
