Jaden Hill- Possible QB?

Excited by our lack of prospects getting drafted I’ve researched a few of the guys that look like they may land on campus. Highest ranked guy left is top 100 prospect: Jaden Hill Jr. out of Ashdown, AR. Big RHP that has hit 95 on the gun.
Kid is 6’4” 215lb and played QB in high school. 3* that played against 4A competition.(Perfect game list him as 6’4” 215, 247 list him at 6’2” 185lb). Had a football scholly offer to Illinois, Mizzou, UCF and others. He’s ranked higher than Jordan Loving who we took as a preferred walk on. He also looks 10x better than Jordan on film.
Worst case scenario maybe football can supplement him with a partial scholarship or some sort of stipend for student athletes that play football and it helps out our baseball team with their ridiculous scholarship limitation.
Here are his highlights. Kid has a cannon

If I'm not mistaken if he plays football he has to be on a football scholarship. I don't think you can walk on to the football team and have a baseball scholarship.

If an athlete plays football and another sport he must be on a football scholarship only.
That rule was passed because Bear Bryant used to tell coaches of the "minor" sports at Alabama how many football players they were going to give scholarships to whenever he ran out of the allowable number of football scholarships.
I remember one time the Alabama head baseball coach made a comment that he was looking forward to meeting some of the players he gave full scholarships to that he'd never met.

The NCAA finally caught on after many years.

I know the young man very well and he is an extremely smart QB and student (National Honor society) with a cannon for a arm. I talked to someone at his home earlier and they said he's been getting multiple calls all day from MLB teams offering to pick him but he won't accept the money they are offering so he'll be coming to LSU.

Give a full baseball and he can walk on for fb...see how it goes

Jaden's car is loaded and he's leaving Arkansas headed for LSU as I type this so unless something changes he'll be on campus and be a Tiger in about 5 hours.

Looking at your user name, you live around Arden ? My parents were from Arden and Ashdown and I spent many summers at Grandpa’s farm about a mile from Arden on the Ashdown-Foreman highway. Sold a few roadside watermelons along the way

You are correct. This is commonly referred to at the Bear Bryant rule. He would have guys on swimming and badmitten schollies

Yes I live in the middle the big community of about 40 people. I'm about 2 miles from the Hwy you're talking about.

They don't give full baseball scholarships to my knowledge. I would imagine that most of these baseball players pay most of their own way. Along with partial scholarships and academic scholarships.
No reason he can't walk baseball and football.

Foster played on the football team before his senior baseball season

That's cool! I live in Texarkana so not very far from you. My grandfather coached in both Foreman and Ashdown before ending up at Arkansas High here in town.

Yes. You can play both but if you're on scholarship then it has to be counted against the football scholarship limit
