So I'm starting to feel pretty confident about Watson and Hess

But what about Dups?
And also with Watson looking like he's staying does Digiacomo start in RF?
Or does Cabell play right?

I still feel least confident in Watson returning, I just feel like he wants to move on. I feel more confident about Duplantis and Hess by the pick. Which if those two stay, that answers your question. Cabrera LF, Duplantis CF and Cabell/ Digi to RF

Watson could earn a shite ton more money coming back for another year while still having leverage on his side.
It'd be dumb for him to leave. I don't know if I missed a news piece or something but I'm not understanding this "Watson just wants to leave narrative"

Watson was a top 75 prospect. Over 300 picks later he’s still on the board. There’s a reason for that, he turned down offers like at least 50% of the recruiting class.

Dups could still leave. He will lose leverage and probably wouldn’t raise his stock that much anyway. Watson would be leaving a lot of money on the table if he leaves.

I agree. I'm just surprised Dups isn't off the board yet.
Watson had to have turned down some offers and I starting to feel like Dups may have as well.

Remember, Dups will have his brother at LSU next year. Tempting to stay and have a year on campus together.

If Watson were to come back, I’d like to see him move back to his natural position in the infield to replace Hughes or Broussard.
Cabrera, dups, and one of the new guys can cover the OF.
Win/Win in my opinion
The black hole of Hughes and Broussard would be no more.

Watson is a center fielder. Period. Dude ain't moving to the outfield. We're bringing in help up the middle

Watson didn’t touch the outfield until he got here. This team killed innings with crap production out of the 8/9 hole every game. Not saying he would move to infield but that would make this a much better lineup with the OF players we have coming in
I’m fine with him sticking in CF if he comes back but we got to score more runs either way.
Who do you have at 2B and SS next year?
I think Smith moves back to 3B. No more Squints on the hot corner.

Well Josh Smith is going to be taking SS back and Broussard could easily be replaced by Gavin Dugas. Watson is an excellent centerfielder and We'll be just fine up the middle.

Slaughter most likely starts at 3rd. Willis could play there if Slaughter struggles again.

All good. Just liking the possibilities of what’s on the table next year.

It’s not really a narrative, I don’t have some crazy intel on him or anything.... just going off of his body language and production and the way he just seemed to check out this year. I would love to have 2017 Watson back though. It could completely change the line up next year and produce something special

You can add Bianco to the mix in the middle infield/3rd base conversation as well.
If everything stayed as it is right now we have a fricking wealth of capable infielders

Me too. I don’t get it. I know he doesn’t have huge upside but he has done nothing but hit and play defense at a high level his whole life.

Bianco could realistically play about 5 positions. Very versatile player.

I thought he has been just as good as Stevenson for us.

I wasn't aware the little Duplantis is LSU bound. I just assumed he'd go the Olympic/pro track and field route.
