Anybody own the Husqvarna-28-cu-cm-2-cycleStraight-Shaft-Gas-String Trimmer? How do you like it?

I dont own one nor know anyone that owns one. However, I can tell you this. For a homeowner, that will be 100% fine for what you need. Lowes carries Husq and HD carries Echo. Both will last many many years and suit a homeowner just fine.

If you have 30+ yards and 3 crews running them, well, Redmax.

I have owned that exact model for 2 years now zero complaints and starts as it should. I did a refurbished one for $118 shipped in the off season. Peak season you're better off buying new since they only knock off about $20 for a refurb.

I wish I would have purchased a weed eater that could change attachments to chainsaw, trimmer, etc.

Good solid units, buy the set of carb adjustment tools below because 99% of them come out of the box lean and need more fuel to run perfectly.

I have one in the garage that you can have. Been in the shop twice and now broken again. Get the Echo, it’s been the best weed eater I have owned and I’ve had a bunch.

I have this exact model and have had zero issues out of it. You can't go wrong with either brands.

Had one for 6-7 years without a single problem. A nagger stole it out of my truck at my office at 3pm on a Tuesday about 8 months ago (seen him on the adjacent buildings security system). Got a new one, and it's been shitty ever since. Just exchanged it at Lowe's yesterday for another new one.

I have curved shaft but I love the husq. Had it for 2-3 years now with no issues. Starts up Every time and I don’t do any maintenance on it unless it doesn’t start...which it hasn’t yet.

Have on. Works well. Starts quickly. Have had it long enough to reload string a couple times. Lightweight.

I have had that model for about 5 years now. Always starts on 2nd pull like it is supposed to. Only issue I have had was the gas line dry rotted and had to be replaced. I empty fuel each time I am done and run it dry to make sure nothing builds up in the carb.

Thanks all! I was considering either the Echo or Stihl but I saw the Husqvarna at Lowes the other day. I think I'm still torn between the Echo and Stihl.

It will last as long as you follow the maintenance schedule in owner's manual. Don't toss it ... read it and follow it religiously.

Should only have to change the plastic prime bulb at or around year 4. Then when you're buying the bulb, buy a new head for it since your string prob won't be coming out as good as it used to bc the plastic sprocket teeth are getting worn.

Those engines do not tolerate bad gas (water or trash) which is 99% of all problems.

Happy trimming

Alright, got home a few mintes ago from Home Depot where I checked out the Echo again($199.99). The Stihl was $219.99 at most Stihl dealers but a week or two ago it was $199.99. I went to Pauli's in Metairie and asked if it was still on sale(not sure if it really was but they sold it to me for that price. I just bought a new blower from them about two months ago as well. The Stihl starts on the first half pull! Glad I went that route!!!!!
