When Texas came calling, pahl was underappreciated

I’m glad he earned this raise and extension

LSU was in the College World Series championship round last year, the first year after the raise and extension.
Some of you people act as though Paul Mainieri touched you personally like Luke Heimlich.

It’s not the first time Paul let things slip after a huge run. He fell asleep at the wheel for 2010 and 2011

Remember when he openly admitted that?!?

This is not our year and last year wasn't either but look where we ended up. Come on we are out matched in almost every category.

I surely do. He was doing social events and not coaching

It's been a rough year, no doubt. And, yes, you're right, that there were a couple of down years after '09.
The flip side is that this team has had some significant injuries. Don't you think the pitching staff could use Walker, Labas and Latz about now, not to mention Hilliard (though I blame Mainieri for that by pitching him on short rest in the SEC tournament)? And this team somehow got into a regional despite all of the glaring holes up and down the roster.
LSU is not going to win a regional this year. Accept it. If they are as bad or worse next year, gripe away.

Of any coach on campus, Mainieri deserves the benefit of the doubt after a down season

Lsu wasn't competitive in that series. We lost, that is all that matters . It's been 9 years since LSU won it all. How long are you willing to wait is the only question that really means anything. If you think PM wins another NC you accept the down years. If you don't think he will then your ready to move on. It's that simple

Name the short list for who you’d replace Paul with tomorrow that would suddenly have us winning the CWS every year?
Posted on 6/2/18 at 11:38 pm to DBU
I have a list of coaches that I think would be better but we're did I say it should be every year? I said if you think PM wins another one you are ok with years like this and the previous 8. If you don't then you are ready to move on. Jeff Willis why not

We lost arguably our second best starting pitcher for that series too

Sure, let's get a recovering alcoholic and stick him in the athletic dept with the drunk we have coaching football

You think we should hire the fricking lsue coach? You might actually be retarded.

Then HOW can Oregon St have so much more offensive talent than LSU?
