I have mono vision contacts. Distance in the right and close up in the left. I adjusted to them quickly. Focus Night and Day lenses.

I been wearing for many years and love it. Still use readers to see better but don’t really have to. Cannot get lasik, Dr. said I was not a candidate.

Seriously? Damn. Then I won't bother with LASIK. I really don't mind contacts, I just loathe having to wear readers.

I am under the impression that LASIK is for myopia, can't see far away and won't correct your up close vison.

Contacts are definitely still an option after LASIK. They may not work for everyone post LASIK but to say LASIK=no contacts is incorrect

Thanks for all the great help. I’m going to try taking a contact out (why I love the OT) and if that doesn’t work out I’ll try multifocal. I didn’t know they existed until I saw a commercial today.

I’ve had them. They suck.

As someone who deals with these issues on a daily basis, I can say that most people agree with you...multifocal contacts suck. Monovision has a much higher success rate in my experience.

I’ve heard some people regret having one eye adjusted for close and one for far.

I had Lasik 15 years ago. Both eyes done the same, not one for near and one for far. I am 57 and don't have to wear reading glasses.
