Has it been mentioned that McCain threatened to leave the GOP?

He negotiated with POS Tom Daschle to become an “independent”.
Would have given control of the Senate to the Dems.

This shouldn’t surprise anyone. He’s a snake

can you blame him with the current environment? He actually has morals, values, and character

I hope he goes to heaven and wish him a painless death. But, he is a POS. Ashamed I ever voted for him.

Do you have any idea how long Tom Daschle has been out of the senate?

Why is someone a POS if they want to switch political parties? There is more to life than just politics. Stop being so narrow minded

He did for all practical purposes.
He certainly has behaved like a democRat and if you do that, who cares if you have an elephant or a jackass on your lapel.

Jesus Christ man. Donald Trump has you defending the biggest warmonger in U.S. Senate history. There isn't a body count of American soldiers and Middle Eastern civilians too high to quench McCain's bloodthirst. It's sad that, for the American political and media establishment, having morals and character is equivalent to supporting American empire and all the death and destruction that accompanies it. How can you claim to be a liberal humanitarian and praise a man whose psychopathic foreign policy has objectively done more damage than Trump's mean tweets or alleged demagoguery?

By any standard you would like to measure too? He has done more for this country than anyone on this board. He was this boards hero just a few yrs ago. But now since he disagrees with a lot of Trumps policies he is now a traitor, war criminal, and POS. You Pubs are a sad bunch

I had forgotten about that but now that you mention it I do recall. Yes, there was talk of him doing just that.
Again, McCain has some deep-rooted psycho-urge to back-stab his own side. He hates the Bushes and worked to undermine them, he disparaged POW/MIA families seeking more info, he threatened to help the Dems keep Senate power away from the GOP, he works harder to hurt Trump than he ever did for his constituency in Az.
If you were in the foxhole in the Ardennes Forest in 1944 and John McCain were your "battle buddy", you'd better watch your back, as well as your front. John McCain is a psychologically disturbed man.

No it doesn't. Too bad every thread from this board gets locked after a week because I would love to bump some old threads

...and you were probably one of the folks who called him a dangerous, right-winged, extremist in 2008.

What precisely has McCain done for the United States?
Also, he was never anyone’s hero if they are true Republicans. John McCain has never been a conservative, he has never fought for meaningful conservative/Republican political programs, and was one of the worst Presidential candidates in modern history.
But we should worship him because he was a POW 60 years ago. K. He’s nothing but an attention whore who can’t control his pathological need to be the center of attention. There may not be a person with a more inflated sense of self-importance than John McCain.
