Tommy Robinson Case

So, Tommy went to prison yesterday for reporting outside the courtroom where a grooming case was being held. I said Prison, not Jail. He got 13 months within a day of being arrested. The man will die in prison for reporting. He has a reward on his head, a fatwah or whatever.
Now, the judge in the case has barred any new agency from reporting on Tommy's case. Period. If they do, they go to jail. Major UK news agencies have scrubbed any mention of Tommy RObinson. It's like he's been black hooded and erased.
So much for free speech and freedom of the press in the UK.
They have their reasons for doing this. English law is very protective of the jury and a fair trial for the defendant. Any attempt to poison the jury, even by those outside the courtroom is illegal and can lead to the case being dismissed.
Still think this was selectively applied to Tommy.

As London goes, so does the UK.

who is Tommy Robinson?
There have been multiple threads on this and nobody has bothered to explain who the dude is.
Google makes me think he is a Milo/Cernovich type rabble rouser. Is that accurate?

Not really. When he was younger he was big in the English Defense League. He grew out of it, but he still fought against the encroachment of Islam in England. He's been under a death sentence for most of his adult life, did time in prison and had to be kept in solitary for his own protection, and then the Rebel hired him as a reporter. Since then he's become a free speech activist in England.

There is a rumor that he has already been attacked and is in the hospital.

Tommy was jailed for one and only one reason: the Defendants in the case he was covering were Muslims accused of mass child kidnappings and rapes. His coverage flies in the face of the multicultural society the UK has forced on its citizens at the butt of a gun. The UK is a soft fascist state: CCTV everywhere and criminal speech codes punishing subjectively offensive speech.

British law on this “reporting” is clear, and he chose to violate it. I also suspect that he had been warned.

I bet you support our jack booted thugs in the FBI too right?
That guy they fricked over in the anthrax case had it coming, right?
Those guys who died in jail after being wrongly convicted that Mueller let rot to "protect a source" had it coming right? all for the greater good

No it wouldn't. Robinson was arrested for the crime of journalism. That is an alien offense in this country, as our courts have always shied away from prior restraints against speech. But go ahead and continue to white knight for the authoritarians in the United Kingdom who put a man in prison for 13 months because he had the gall to report on the mass raping of children by Muslim gangs.

Of course he does.

Robinson has had a target on his back. If the roles were reversed, and members of the Islamic community were protesting white supremacists who assaulted Asian youths, do you think the courts there would have sent any Muslims to jail for over a year and prevented the press from reporting it? Robinson is a thorn in the side of the British government. They want him gone, and they're doing everything they can to get him killed.

Short video of his arrest.

Yeah just think about all the conservatives that try to shut down liberal speakers when they come to their campuses.
You’re full of fricking shite, 99% of the people on this board would never support someone being jailed for hate speech laws regardless of what the message was. This case made me so sad.
And also frick you for hiding behind the “well if he didn’t violate British law” bull shite. It’s okay for reporters over there to create a media storm over a guy that taught his dog a nazi salute, but they jail the guy who reported on the grooming gangs that terrorized dozens of young girls.
You know what this is about.

Just a reminder what happens when you step outside the circle. Hate to say it, but maybe UK turning into a 3rd world shithole will open a few eyes in the US.

Should Rosa Parks have just gone to the back of the bus?
