I'm all for defense, but is this legally accurate? Seems more vigilante to me if the citizen confronted him
Well, I always carry my pistol into restaurants,in case my steak is too rare. I hate trying to cut it up while it's still moving around.
As I am going in the door, this guy comes running out with a gun,WTF am I supposed to do?

No. How so??

You down for armed citizens running down criminals and shooting them? They aren't a threat if they are leaving.
I mean he could have forgotten a clip and walked to his car to get one and turned around to walk back in. I don't know. If that was the case then fire away. He's a threat
So there you are, armed in the parking lot when an armed criminal runs into the parking lot after shooting up a restaurant, what are you going to do? Are you going to shoot him dead or stand around and try to determine his intentions? You gonna wait to see if he needs more ammo first? What are you going to do when it’s you or him?

Why do you hate American lives?

The bad guy was a threat to anyone he encountered based on his previous actions. He doesn’t have to be actively shooting at others to make him a threat. The potential to do more harm to innocents is there - he did it once he can do it again. Thank God he is gone

If you are in the parking lot, how do you know what just happened inside the restaurant?

Why would I need to know that? Is he running in my direction with a gun in his hand?
He fricked,or I am.

But you don't know that. You are in the parking lot. I just meant I wasnt sure this would hold up in a court of law. Send like you would have to prove somehow that you knew a guy shot up a restaurant that you werent even in.
Maybe it does hold up as self defense. I don't know.

That's not the way it read. It said he was confronted by an armed citizen.
If the guy confronts you, shoot him. You have every right. I agree with that.

Gunshots are loud, moron.

And? That proves absolutely nothing.
You going to confront someone who just robbed a bank, shoot them, and say you heard gunshots and thought they killed someone? My question was does that hold up in a court of law? Can you answer that?
The key sentence to me was the citizen confronted the criminal.
If the criminal confronts you, do what you have to. I agree with that.

You are over analyzing a very simple situation.
A thug, a clear danger to society, received instant justice as he was eliminated in the act by a brave, regular American Joe.
Thug is no longer a danger to society.
American Joe did a great job of protecting society.
Don’t over think this Paper.
