You would think he would see him come up to bat if he was pitching.
High schools use the DH rule, dummy. Do you still claim to be a baseball expert?

Yes they do but not if a pitcher can hit. Not knowing if a player you recruited ever batted before in high school is a stupid statement.

His dad lied too then. On SEC Now interview after the game he said Todd hit a few bombs in High School. It’s whaterver though! Go Yard

From what I gather, he was allowed to hit batting practice in high school and hit homeruns in bp, but his coach never let him hit in a game.
Maybe his dad was referring to his bp shots?

I find it hard to believe that nearly every single pitcheron this LSU team wasn't one of the best hitters and fielders on their HS team.

They all have to be pretty top notch athletes to play at LSU. Not many high schools have pitching specicalist.

Peterson seems to be a character and great with a mic in front of him. He was probably just playing up the situation with CPM. Good to see, either way.

So Paul is supposed to attend every game a guy plays if hes recruiting? How will he have time to be the awful coach you think he is?

Your statements are what's truly stupid.

Some high school pitchers also play positions on their non-pitching days meaning they bat. Austin Bain did that at Dutchtown.

Some pitchers in HS only pitch and never bat.

There's no reason for Mainieri to remember which of his pitchers who are only going to pitch at LSU batted in high school.

Your irrational hatred for Mainieri is obvious. And it makes you look as petty as a jilted 13 year old girl.

Paul’s assumption was that he did hit in HS. You are really dumb.

Man I played against several good pitchers who couldn't hit for shite.

I mean you're right they still had at bats but they were dogshit.

Travel ball has specialized kids a lot more these days. On average I would say you're right but it wouldn't surprise me if there are guys who didn't swing in highschool.

It all depends. How deep is the team? Who do you plan to pitch later? Is this guy better when he only focuses on pitching? If he hits, does he run too or do you uve a PR for him?

He recruited him in HS. Pretty dumb not to know if he ever batted in high school. How can you not know? I'm pretty sure the Auburn coach knows if Mize batted in HS.

Stop trying to be a contrarian dickhead. They didn't recruit him to be a hitter, they recruited him as a pitcher. High school players do tons of shite on their team that they never do in college. Mainieri had no reason to know if he had ever hit in HS or not.

Years ago, LSU played a game at Ole Miss that half the team couldn't participate in because they got food poisoning at a restaurant on the trip to Oxford. Bertman literally had to ask every kid who wasn't sick what positions they had and hadn't played in HS so he could field a lineup. Coaches don't know all that shite off the top of their head. Go be pissy somewhere else.

Did he ask them if they ever batted before? You are missing the point. I can understand if he had only one career at bat in HS and not knowing. But not knowing if he played a position and batted is just stupid.

I am a LSU fan and not melting. Just pointing out a fact that makes the coach look even dumber. Especially since Bain rode the pine a few years without given the chance to bat. If he knew about Bain, then he would of knew Bain could have helped this team in other ways instead of just pitching. Peterson has never batted in HS and I know that. How can his coach who recruited him not know that? I understand the situation and know he had to bat regardlesss. That's not the arguement so quit trusting info around.

your irrational hatred for Maineri is making you look stupid. I know it eats you up to watch them win You could’ve hammered him for missing the post season but here you are grasping at straws to try and make maineri look bad. It’s pathetic.

Man I don’t know , when he stepped into the box I seen confidence in his eyes and he had an aggressive open stance !!! When swung and missed I told my daughter, Peterson knows how to handle a bat !! I find it hard to believe that he never swung a bat in HS !! Either way that’s what fun looks like, congrats to him !
