Jake Gyllenhaal is ready to bring a little mystery to the Spider-Man universe. The actor is in talks to play the classic Marvel villain Mysterio in the sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming. Spider-Man creators Stan Lee and Steve Ditko introduced Mysterio in the comics in 1964. A special effects expert, Quentin Beck used his talents to create elaborate illusions to commit crimes and to fight Spider-Man.

But he's dead!?!?
Kinda silly to do the emotional death in infinity wars when there is no chance of him remaining that way.

This is why “deaths” in MCU are pointless. Everyone is crying on social media and it’s like “they have more movies coming out, all this sobbing is for nothing”

This is hardly exclusive the the MCU
It's pretty widespread across all comics

I don't really understand this mentality. Of course the audience knows these characters will return, but are going to pretend that's it's not going to affect the remaining characters and their motivations in Part 2?

I'm talking about movies, I don't care about comics. Yeah I know DCEU does this, but those films generally suck and the mainstream doesn't care about them.

But will he look like the kid tv show version? Because that's the version I care about the most

Well the movies are based off the comics. Its inevitable that it was going to happen.
And how many characters before Infinity War have they brought back from death? I can't think of any besides Loki. That's one character through 18 movies.

I'm really interested in knowing the look they give him.

You mean to tell me Tom Holland isn’t dead in real life?

They got to keep the purple cape

It'll tie into Stark's endgame
