lol, the movies are based off comics. Death has absolutely no meaning in comic book stories which also applies to movies that based themselves off of comic books. If you want permadeath, go find a different form of entertainment.

This is why “deaths” in MCU are pointless. Everyone is crying on social media and it’s like “they have more movies coming out, all this sobbing is for nothing”

Death in the X-Men universe is pointless.

Actually, The X-Men universe is dead, lol.

Except for the X-Men movie that knocked the Marvel Universe movie out of the top spot this weekend.

Come on. You're making it too easy for the rest of us.

I wonder if he'll show up in Daredevil for THAT arc.

There was a report a few weeks ago that Matt Damon turned down the villain role but they never said who the villain was. I guess it was Mysterio.

Pretty sure he died.
Either by Hela or Thanos's hand.

Why not Donnie Darko?

Isn't he some kind of superhero.

Any bets on who will have the better box office take?

You realize that Fox has dropped the X:men name from the new Dark Phoneix movie. It's over. Fox's run of making shitty F4 and Xfilms(save a handful) is done. Marvel Studios suprerior filmmaking and superior box office has conquered them.

Bye crappy Mystique centered films
Bye terrible Cyclops
Bye to the Logan/Charles/Erik show.

But the MCU will take Deadpool in, he's going to be a big star for House of Mouse.

Any bets on you totally ignoring that Fox has a successful mutant film in theaters and the best superhero series on TV right now? They have two mutant movies in production and X-Force in development. It’s not a matter of beating Disney in sales. They’re making money. The only thing that will stop Fox is for Disney to buy them. I’m sure you’ll consider that a win, having fewer Marvel films in the theaters.

That was the intent. They even had Kevin Smith do the DVD commentary, even though he had nothing to do with the movie.

Word on the street says anything with DeadPool is going to be absorbed by Marvel Studios, Dark Phoenix is the last X-Men movie and New Mutants will be largely self contained.

Also, to be fair, you are not considering the possible bump in production of Marvel Studios to 4 movies a year.

Which could be satisfactory to both the increase in quality of Marvel IPs in theater and the opportunity for different kinds of movies to be in theaters, something we all want, right?

and finally calling out someone for ignoring a fact while ignoring the tea leaves said poster is reading is a little hypocritical.

And good riddance. Terrible ideas.

I like the characters, but yes, they became bigger than the team which is the total antithesis of the X-Men.

I have an idea on how to retcon Magneto's backstory to make his age more realistic, but it would be extremely controversial.

Instead of him being a holocaust survivor, he'd be a survivor of either the genocide done by Slobodan Milosevic in the mid-90's or from the Liberian Civil War in the 80's.

Most of the Holocaust survivors, if children or teenagers, if still alive, would be in their 80's or 90's.

Considering it's an easy matter to simply say his mutant genes slowed the aging process this really isn't important, but in the comics I believe he was reduced to the age of a child by some cosmic entity as punishment for his crimes and then he was forced to grow up all over again. That's how they handled his turn from a heel to a face.

I'd like to see Christoph Waltz or Peter Stormaire play an elder Magneto. He is Polish IIRC. (Magneto, not Waltz)

On topic, the MCU is really crushing it with the villains lately.this will add to it.

I wonder how interesting Ghost will be.
