So now progressives are offended on behalf of wolves?

These stories were Disneyized long ago.

Speaking of Disney, did you see this?

Progressives are the weakest people on the planet. The men are physically and mentally weak.

Little Red Riding Hood got eaten by the wolf..?

The Three little pigs murdered and ate the wolf...?

I don't remember those endings... That would've been awesome...
Stay away from the sanitized, Disneyesque versions.

Little Black Sambo was literally my favorite book growing up.
I think I demanded it’s rereading to me no fewer than 1000 times.
My copy is so worn, the pages feel like fabric.
I treasure it.

NEVER did I think about the boy being black.
I thought he was clever, funny, and brilliant.
Through a child’s eyes, the story is all about winning.

We do such a disservice to children when we marginalize their intelligence.
Furthermore, adults erroneously view every situation through a “grown up” filter, rather than recognizing the fact that kids just see the big, innocent picture.

Shame on the guilty parties.

as the series went on, the Harry Potter books became progressively less children-oriented.
The readers were growing up, and the characters and their stories grew with the readers.

That's because these stories have already been getting censored and revised for a long time. Some of them are really dark. Check out the Brothers Grimm version of Cinderella. The "evil stepsisters" cut off their own toes and heels in an attempt to fit into the shoe and the srory ends with birds pecking out their eyes.

The original illustrations don’t look anything like the minstrel-esque ones we are used to seeing. There are multiple modern republishings that replace them without changing a word of the story.
