When Good Restaurants Become Chains

Ralph and Kackoo's pretty much sucks since Picadilly bought it. It was okay as a chain before that.
Don's sucks
Landry's SUCKS arse ROYALLY (except the one in Jeanerette but it's not affiliated)
Ruth's Chris is good of course
Mike Anderson's is usually alright
What are some other's and how they rate once they duplicated?
It seems once they try to please people in other regions and then try to stay the same at every one, they then turn to crap.

Surprisingly, Walk-On's food actually improved when they began to expand.

Cane's
I still double take everytime I see the one by my house with cowboys and SMU signs.

Zea Rotisserie is rock solid.

Walk-On's improved
Zea's is excellent
Rouse's (not a restaurant) has gotten worse
Izzo's got worse, but not by a lot
Rotolo's got way worse
Cane's portions went down and prices went WAY up, but quality has been fairly consistent.

Bistro Byronz used to be a go-to, and it is godawful now. They always had more than one location, but man it is nothing like its former self.

I remember Byronz when I was like 10. I guess they came back as a "bistro" instead of a sandwich shop with homemade bread and chips?

I agree. It had to improve or it was not going to succeed in different places.

I remember when the first Copeland's opened under the HPL Bridge. It was the hot spot in town.

Dont know if Superior began as a chain or where it came from. It was a big deal when it opened and I was at LSU.
They had complimentary fried goat during happy hour.
But they suuuuuuck in general. let the down votes begin

Zea’s is just as good. South of Philly stayed the same. Cane’s got worse with the portions and prices, but the quality remained consistent. Popeye’s got worse once Copeland lost control, especially once the spice supply contract ran out.

I don't think it was ever designed to be anything but a chain. It was never just a single local joint.

Cane's portions went down and prices went WAY up,
A current box combo costs $7.26
That has the same buying power as $4.61 in 1996 when canes opened
Are yall going to try and say a box cost less than that?.........
Thats what I thought. The Canes price complaint is the biggest farce this board has
