Speculation Thread: What happens after Infinity War? (SPOILERS )

Gonna leave some space here so mouse-overs don't get spoils, also I'll be delving into the comics a bit so it may well spoilers for the next movie.
You have been warned.
Although the story played out differently in the Infinity Gauntlet mini-series, the outcome was similar. Half the universe dead.
In the comics Nebula was made into an undead-ish, mutilated husk. When Thanos assumed full power (unseating Eternity) he "inadvertently" left his physical form vulnerable so she shambled over and took the gauntlet from him. She reversed reality to 24 hours previous. Adam Warlock had mastered the Soul Stone so he, the Silver Surfer and Doctor Strange took refuge there.
Warlock then used his mastery of the Soul Stone along with Nebula's inexperience to create a disharmony among the Stones (much like would happen if Keith Richards ever got clean and became an evangelical Christian). This disrupted the power of the Gauntlet enough for it to be wrested from Nebula's grasp by the assembled heroes. As everyone fought for the gauntlet, Warlock was able to win possession of it and set everything right.
To the best of my knowledge Warlock has only been teased once in the entire series of MCU films and has never worn the Soul Stone in this iteration.
So here's my take on what may transpire...
Nebula is still alive and thirsting for Thanos' blood so she could find him, realize she needs help then go on a hunt for the GoTG to get assistance. With Rocket being the only one left and now on Earth, that would be where she would go.
Rocket helps her recruit others (who now include Captain Marvel and a Hulk that's found his balls) and they go to face off against Thanos.
While we haven't had an Adam Warlock wearing the Soul Stone for years, we have had the Vision wearing it and a LOT was made of how it was only a part of his personality. So it's easy enough to say that he takes the place of Warlock within the Soul Stone causing a disruption to the Gauntlet's Stone synergies.
This work within the Soul Gem could also allow Vision to send word to Earth that he was still alive and has a way to beat Thanos.
Once the Gauntlet is removed from Thanos, Vision re-emerges and dons the glove. He sets things right, removes any memory of the stones as well as memories of the events leading up to it the major conflict from everyone's minds (which is also what Warlock did, except for a chosen few) then destroys (or maybe disperses) the Stones.
***EDIT***
I forgot that it was the Mind Stone that Vision had, not the Soul Stone. Thanks for catching my frickup, my entire theory is now shot.
***EDIT - PART 2***
Or is it? It could still play out that way with Vision moving his consciousness into the Mind gem. Maybe?

That's a hell of a coincidence! haha

I've seen rumors that the next one is called Avengers Forever and takes place five years later. Tony is leading some Shield team and Hawkeye is off in Japan fighting crime.

This is the Tony Stark MCU. RDJ is the biggest actor in the series, Iron Man 1 started the franchise's success, and Tony is responsible for so many of the issues that have come about (Ultron, Civil War, even Avengers 1 centered around a portal opened up from the top of Stark Tower). Tony has to be the one to fix it, and he has to pay for it with his life. Dr Strange saw it - which is why he went back on his word and exchanged the Time Stone for Tony's life.
eta: Cap's gonna die. Hell he has been trying to kill himself since before he had the Serum, when he jumped on that grenade in training camp.
I also think Ms Marvel will be MUCH more powerful than people are expecting. You don't use the only post credit scene to tease another normal power level character. She's gonna wreck shite.

Vision had the Mind stone, IIRC. The Soul Stone was the only one of the 6 that we never saw in the MCU films until IW.

I have theory that the one outcome Dr. Strange saw that worked was Tony dying in the cave in Ironman 1.

"We know that you've spent billions watching these movies, but we're going to reboot and erase all of that continuity."

That would be some Rian Johnson level "frick YOU" to the fans.

Which I guess brings up another question...when does Captain Marvel take place? Presumably she gains her powers prior to Infinity War, right? No reason to know her or call her otherwise at that point unless she's powered up.

Soul stone was on Vormir with the red skull.

Her origin story takes place in the 90s.

The 90s, thats why she was being called on basically a beeper. Obviously the movie will end with her going into hiding.
Ant Man and the Wasp take place between Civil War and Infinity War.

1990s I believe.

I suppose you mean this...
quote:
The rumor says there will be a five year time jump between the ending of Infinity War and Avengers 4. This would explain why an older actress was cast to play Cassie Lang in in the movie. They aren’t traveling in time to the future, the movie is set there at the beginning. In addition to that, there were set photos of Tony Stark with much grayer hair wearing a S.H.I.E.L.D. uniform, and we’ve seen set photos of him and Scott Lang with Captain America in his original costume from The Avengers, presumably in the Battle of New York.
According to what’s being whispered around, in the five years after the events of Infinity War, Tony Stark (and possibly others) are now agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. He and Scott Lang use some kind of technology that Hank Pym has developed in order to travel back in time in an attempt to defeat Thanos in the past.
If this is true it opens up all sorts of cool Back to the Future style recreations of past MCU events, and would be a MCU adaptation of the Avengers Forever event from 1998 and 1999. In that, a team of various Avengers from different time periods join forces to defeat a great threat. That would also explain the set photos of an older Tony Stark with Ant-Man and the Avengers-era Captain America and Thor.
It’s Tony and Scott’s Excellent Adventure through time.

They have already said that Captain Marvel will be much more powerful than any of the other heroes in the MCU. Which is kind of silly with Hulk, Thor and Scarlet Witch being in the fold. They are bulking her up.
quote:
"What is one of the coolest things about it is she will be by far the most powerful character we've ever introduced in the movie. 'How do you find those limitations? How do you find those vulnerabilities?' is something that is sort of at the crux of the story that we're putting together. She has -- as you know from the comics -- an interesting story, and I think we have a very cool and unique way of telling that story. I don't think it's leaked yet exactly what we're doing with her movie or how we're doing it, but it will be cool. She will prove to be a very important character in our universe for all the movies."

that would fit the title being a spoiler for Infinity War since that title would imply a time travel element, which would have tipped off Thanos winning IW.

They somehow go back in time. Thor then knows to go for the head. Boom done
