Metairie location on Severn. Rent too high. customers too few.
City Park location is staying open. Man I was there one time and the place was booming. They were hauling in busloads of tourists left and right.

This has as much to do with them crushing it in City Park as anything else. With the revenue being generated there, the Metairie location just isn't worth the hassle anymore.

Also i think the success of Fleurty Girl in that Metairie strip has resulted in a rent increase.

They almost left a few years ago, but were able to negotiate a deal on rent.
I think the newsstand leaving probably hurt them a lot, plus the fact that a cafe du monde is relative close (one inside the mall, plus on vets near clearview) and puccino's is across the street.
At City Park they have a virtual monopoly.
I ate A LOT OF beignets at their Lakeside location over the years.

I'm not a real Morning Call fan, but I wonder what is going to happen to the wood paneling? That was moved from the original French Market location to Fat City...
Haven't been to the City Park location yet as I don't get out to that area when I'm in NOLA...
Doesn't Fleurty Girl own the strip mall?
Wish either cafe would open a location close to LSU

Used to go to Met location after movie dates in the 80s. The City Park location is now the go to underage date or meet friends location. Its a great location and being open 24 hrs is unique.

The owner I met was very proud to remind me of his ancestor in New Orleans history, David Hennessy, the Chief of Police, who before dying, fingered "Dagoes" in his murder.
It caused an international incident. Several Sicilian Americans were convicted in a lynch mob mentality as a result.
