i’m hoping they do well enough to get a regional but they won’t get a Super. Don’t have dominant pitching. Ark & Ole Miss series are huge.

Agree that it will be tough going forward, but I don't think pitching is the problem. Hillard lost two winnable games if he got any run support. This team can not hit in pressure situations & it has & will continue to cost them.

I mean I don't know if dominant is the right word, but there's nothing wrong with the pitching right now.

With the injuries, draft, and graduation, we have an entirely new weekend rotation and entirely new infield including Catcher. I believe we’re only 1or 2 games off last year’s pace. Let’s hold off on the “let’s give up” storyline.

Pitching hasn’t been the problem at all. Bats are dead.

A significant part of LSU playing better is getting Broussard and Smith back in and at 100%. Both their bats and their defense is sorely needed. Anyone who doesn't think those two absences are NOT hurting us is not watching carefully.

It would be nice to sweep Tennessee, but Florida couldn't sweep Tennessee this weekend so I doubt we will.

OK, we are 6-6 now.

Tennessee 2W-----8-7
@Carolina 2W-----10-8
@Ole Miss 1W-----11-10
Arkansas 2W-----13-11
Alabama 2W-----15-12
@Auburn 2W-----17-13.

I think that is probably the best we will do this SEC season. If we can win our OOC games, we would end up 36-20. Don't know if that is good enough to host a Regional, but we will certainly make a Regional at 36-20.

Not sure of 2 wins at Carolina. We are not a good road team.

15-15, 1-2 in Hoover, 3 seed and 1-2 in a Regional. (#66 RPI right now) Anything beyond that would be a pleasant surprise. We all knew this would be a tough year. Just gotta get some postseason experience for next year.

Besides Gilbert right now...I really like our pitching. Personally, I'd like to see Labas replace Gilbert in the weekend rotation. Gilbert can be an effective pitcher when he has control of his pitches. I'm not sure if he's injured right now, but something isn't right with him. Imo, he needs to be moved to mid-week starter or the bullpen.

Obviously, there isn't anything wrong with our bullpen. It's been the strength of our team so far. We have at least 6-7 legit guys here. Getting Storz healthy would be nice as well.

Injuries have basically killed our hitting. Imo, we actually have 9 solid hitters on our team. The problem is that 3 of them are injured. When your 7, 8, 9 hitters are Reid, Slaughter, & Hughes...that's a huge problem. Ideally, you would like to have just 1 of them in the lineup at most.

I like these 9 hitters...Duplantis, Watson, Josh Smith, Broussard, Cabrera (I think he's going to get even better), Beau Jordan, Bryce Jordan (.452 ob%), Feduccia (I don't like his defense though), & Bain (I think he's the least pure hitter of these 9 guys, but his power makes him legit).

Reid has a really good ob%, but that's about it (I'd rather him over Webre, Slaughter, & Hughes though). He has zero speed & zero power (he literally only has 1 double). I like Webre as a pinch hitter, but I think he needs more development as a hitter before he can be a full-time starter imo.

Hughes & Slaughter have been pretty bad, to say the least. Hughes has a .219 avg, .286 ob%, & 20 strikeouts in 96 at-bats. Slaughter has been just as bad. .213 avg, .322 ob%, & an even lower slugging% than Hughes (Slaughter has 1 double all year).

Unless our decimated lineup miraculously turns it around...I think we're going to have to just stay above water until Broussard, Josh Smith, & maybe even Bryce Jordan come back. I could see us getting hot late in the year. I wouldn't be surprised if we were a 2 or 3(at the worst) seed & ended up winning the regional. This team has a ton of potential once we finally get healthy. The thing that actually worries me the most is Feduccia behind the plate...he really needs to get it together. Bain isn't the greatest 2nd baseman, but that won't be a problem once Broussard comes back. Ideally, you would like Bain at 1B or DH.

I would be shocked if they won one game against the Piggies and the Plainsman. 15-15 sounds more likely, if not 14-16.

This record and a run in the SEC tourney would put us in the hunt for a regional.

15-15 sounds about right. National seed is pretty much out the window. Tough road ahead
