This movie was on last night and all the lead characters are black. You'd thought there had never been a movie with a black lead before that comic book movie that just came out a few weeks ago.

Great Movie BTW.

Loved the Haitians

Were you shocked at the amount of Italian characters in Godfather 2 as well?

Thought you were going to refer to the end scene where Gabrielle Union throws a gun at the mines and when she ducks for cover her nipple flashes. But then you had to go and make it political and racial.

Way to over analyze a Michael Bay film.

Or, you'd think that celebrities would rent out entire theaters for inner city kids to see Selma, Glory, or 12 Years a Slave, The Butler, The Help, The Color Purple... things that legitimately tell a story that younger generations need to see to be able to appreciate what went down for their parents/grandparents/etc.

Not a comic book movie.

I guess i just don't remember it being a "black movie" when it came out, like all the movies release now that feature black actors. that was pre-Obama however and all of the dems divisive identity politics

That's part of today's problem - it wasn't a thing back then.

I didn't see the original BB in theaters because I was a clueless HS kid that didn't understand that just because I didn't watch Fresh Prince or Martin, that those actors could be greater than the sum of its parts, thanks to a director. The original Bad Boys is now one of my all-time favorites.

How the frick are you comparing Bad Boys 2 and Black Panther as far as their relevance to black culture?

It’s like comparing Fletch with Return of the Jedi.

True, Bad Boys 2 presented much more believable material.

Two black cops who fight criminals is something that exists in this world.

There is no highly advanced African kingdom hiding from the rest of the world, at least that we know of. Maybe they are just that damn good at hiding.

I fail to see how that makes it comparable to black panther as far as cultural relevance goes.

It’s more about there’s been black actors movies forever , but when bb2 came out you didn’t see oprah buying out theaters for black kids to go watch it.
