If you know the story of this incident, you really feel for Dwyer. Though he never accepted bribery, he was on a crooked company's "to bribe" list during a bidding process for a contract to organize paying PA citizens back the taxes they'd overpaid. The scheme came to light, and everyone else on the list cut deals with the authorities, leaving Budd standing holding the bag. He killed himself while still technically a state employee, which ensured that his family would receive his life insurance.

And yes, Filter wrote their song about him.

I was just about to type this. In a strange way, he was a hero. He did what he did to make sure his family got all of the benefits that he would leave behind as a state employee. He also warned everyone to stand back in that they "may get hurt". He handed out envelopes to his last trusted men; they didn't know at the time that they were receiving suicide letters.

Once people attempted to stop him, he quickly ended it. Budd nay even still be alive today.

Yeah, wikipedia has it happening a little differently:
quote:

It was revealed at Dwyer's trial that Dwyer sought and won approval for special legislation that authorized him to recover the FICA overpayments, and that coded computer tape seized from CTA's office in July 1984 showed that Dwyer was to receive a $300,000 pay-off for awarding CTA the contract.[7] Moreover, Smith and Torquato's claims about Dwyer being bribed were corroborated by four independent and impartial witnesses,[8] and Smith's testimony against Dwyer was virtually identical to written statements Smith made long before entering into a plea agreement.[9]. Dwyer maintained that he awarded CTA the contract on the basis of his task force recommendation, yet this conflicted with the fact that Dwyer himself personally handled all matters relating to the contract six days prior to awarding it to CTA.[10] Moreover, Dwyer awarded the contract to CTA— an obscure Californian firm with few employees and little equipment— despite being informed by the major Pennsylvanian-based accounting firm Arthur Young and Associates that they could perform the FICA recovery as fast as, and at half the price than, CTA.

Wikipedia also once said:

"Cincinnati would go on to defeat their cross-town homosexual rivals Xavier."

Budd was among many, but those who bribed their way out of blame as well as the feds and SA who went after him...well, I bet they've all had to have just a BIT of psychotherapy because of Budd.

There is one on live leak in Venezuela of some guys chopping of a mans head with a dull axe. The man was still alive when they started swinging it. It's the worst thing I've ever seen in my life.

Yeah. I think I’ve seen it. This Russian soldier was definitely alive as well. You can see the look on his face when they shove that Bowie knife into his neck and start sawing. It’s sickening for sure.

“Someone call the ambulance and a doctor and the police.”

I think it’s a bit late for the first two. Call the coroner. Dude just blew the top of his head off.
