If you're out of shape/eat like shite, this should do the trick.

How long has it been elevated and is it causing problems?
Some people's pressure can naturally run higher than others. You having headaches, dizzy, fatigue etc?
How healthy/unhealthy is your lifestyle?

Easiest way reduce salt intake. Its amazing how much salt we eat on a normal basis these days. Probably a leading cause of why BP is on the rise. Thy this as an experiment go on a low sodium diet for one week and check your BP I think you will find your BP will drop much lower probably borderline low. This will show you the drastic effects of salt on BP.

Salt + alcohol can elevate your BP. Reduce both and you’ll see a noticeable difference

You need to read "The Salt Fix"... Or read articles about sodium intake and effect on BP on PubMed. You may be surprised.

Sodium is in way too many of the foods we eat. Even the ones we think are healthy.
If it’s packaged in any way, there’s a good chance it has a good bit of sodium.

Increase your intake of cinnamon.

I'm not sure about these other fixes, but I can tell you mine was up to 180/150. I'm 5'8" and I was up to 220. Now, I'm at 156 and under 20% body fat and it's 118/70 now at 43. Diet and exercise for me and that's it.

I stopped drinking during the week and began to walk 3 miles a day. Still eat the same but I think the walking and reduced alcohol intake helped immensely.

MY BP dropped 10 points after using my CPAP for 6 months.
