I'd try a DIY kit for it. Sounds like a good idea

sounds like a little overkill to me, especially for $150 bucks. But then again, i'm a cheap arse and my toolbox looks like crap.

So dont go by me

ETA - Yeah if you are going to do it...buy the spray cans of bedliner spray for $10 bucks.

that's a little overboard in my opinion but if you have $150 of frick you money to spend on something like that, then do it.

I used the rattle can spray in bedliner from walmarcks. It's not as thick as line-x, but it keeps the oxidation down.

The inside of your toolbox isn't powder coated or painted? My steel toolbox is probably 20 years old with heavy metal shite slinging around in it daily, and it only has a tiny amount of surface rust.

Putting bedliner on the inside will just cause it to remain forever dirty. There's no way you'd be able to wipe up spills

Eta: I have grease, dirty tools, dirt, etc in there which possibly protects it from rusting

So I assume the outside is Line-X'd already? Who's gonna see it?
I've had a RKI on 3 trucks for 20+ years, while the outside doesn't
shine, the inside holds shite as well as always.
