Yes, "dear diary/facebook" Don't like it, don't click. Moving on...

CLIFFS:

quote:

Dumb black guy: "BRING BACK SCHOOL SEGREGATION!"

Tbird: "NO!"

( )

Had the following fb "debate" with a middle aged leftist black dude the other day and it was truly staggering the level of ignorance that has gripped an increasing number of the "woke." This is the ethnocentric mindset against which EVERYONE (left, right, and center) needs to fight every day, no matter where it's encountered. Not gonna sit here and pretend I took the high road, but some utterances do not merit a genteel reply, IMHO:

Started with another friend of mine asking how people felt about non blacks joining black greek organizations. Pretty standard fb stuff, until one dude piped up with:

The following ensued:

Serious question, how long did it take you to upload all those screenshots?

If it's good for one group to dream of its own ethnostate (Wakanda),
then it must be good for all groups to dream of theirs.

That's equality.

Nah. I have too many good black friends to deal with segregation. We don't always like aspects of each other's culture but we appreciate each other's company, perspectives and experiences.

They're also smart as hell.

This was just a ploy for Tbird to get more friends on Facebook.

It worked I sent him a friend request.

Just don't send me any invites to those gay A&M circle jerk parties.

I disagree with segregation.

But I wish the Feds didn't jump into a situation they didn't fully understand and push a forced busing policy that lead to the destruction of our inner city school systems. Good intentions doesn't mean there won't be unintended consequences.

No single government policy could have been as efficient at destroying inner city schools and exacerbating suburban sprawl if they actually tried. Nothing else but forced busing could have done that on such a large scale so quickly. Things like FHA loans and new freeways enabled sprawl, but they are not the root cause. Well intentioned but heavy handed federal policy on integration did.

We should have done more to preserve neighborhood school zones instead of shipping kids clear across cities to meet quotas.

The beginning read like two 19th century Englishmen having a misunderstanding.

Seriously though, you are fighting the good fight.
