Here's a suggestion. Do not send any player to the plate who's last name begins with an S. Schulte, Springfield, Sanchez and Serrett are a combined 8 for 51 in SEC games this year for a .156 average. Just a thought. LOL!

Obviously they swept Auburn.....Nobody on that team is hitting during SEC games and they managed to win 2 games against Bama this weekend.

Won the Saturday game 3-1 and actually scored one run because of a walk, wild pitch, ground out and wild pitch home.

Sunday had one hit going to the 7th. Leadoff HR to tie game 1-1, walk Sac bunt to 2nd, K and then base hit for the winning run. It was Auburn's only hit all weekend with a RISP.

I would be curious to hear some of Lawson's post game comments, if there was a writer there for the local paper. I've always liked her...and if I remember right she almost ended up here when Murphy bailed...but Kentucky extended her and we got Torina.

I just hope there are some MAJOR shake ups for this week and moving forward, we need it. Offensively we have to find a way to be better, Walljasper hoover, and Maribeth all are talented and can hold a lot of teams down but we can't always expect them to be perfect.

It can't hurt to see what some of the other players on the bench can do, maybe someone could be a spark. Maybe not I would at least just like to try and see.

Lawson actually was the one who recommended to LSU to look at Torina

Both are or were friends

Church meet choir

Glad to see you finally come around to comment on what has been the norm for quite some time. It's hard to see this level of stubbornness make an actual change but I'll keep hoping for sanity to prevail.

At some point, someone on the staff has to step up and hold players accountable for their production (you would think anyway).

Even if its for just one or two games, just see what someone does

I just don't think it can hurt personally. Sometimes players respond in a very positive way if they see the bench once, they are all competitive athletes.

If it works fantastic if not it is what it is, at least we can say we tried.

4 games in 3 days, all against good competition. Maybe the bench will be tested.

I'd love to see Thornhill get untracked. She has looked very overmatched.

Everyone on the team seems overmatched at the moment to be fair

I trust that our staff and players will do what is necessary to improve and play much better than what I heard happened this weekend. One weekend should not define our season, but I'm sure there is concern and a desire to not let this happen again.

The game can be seen on ESPN as a replay. I watched it a little while ago.

Now is the time to bench Sanchez. If you havent seen enough yet, you never will. Sit her down.

Two outs, force to third, the ball is hit to her and throws to first instead of just tagging the base.

Bases loaded, she hits into a double play and maybe its just me but she just seems to be running, not pushing really hard to go faster.

Serret got her occasional hit. Schulte got one.

Pull Sanchez, put Goff in the game somehow. I know Thornhill can play first, move Doyle to third.

You have to have production, offensive production, to justify putting someone out on the field, not just good defensive play. Veach at Auburn, she has had her struggles, but she can change a game with a swing of the bat. You might have to give a little on defense, but you have to have offensive production from everyone.

You might give a little slack to the shortstop and the catcher (Oklahoma does that, even), but the rest of it is about offensive production.

Season aint over yet. They need a real kick in the butt.
Throw the bench sitters out there and see what they can do this coming Thursday.

Our pitchers do most the dirty work ahead of time. Its nice to have a top defense but yea at this point I will sacrifice some of it for offense

Coaches often find themselves in this predicament and eithrf have to take a great defensive player and make him a good hitter too, or take a great hitter and make them good defensive players.

When a weak hitter starts struggling on defense it is time to find somebody else.

Most have flaws in their swing. The same flaws I saw last year. If it wasn't corrected in the off season chances are slim this late to correct them. I see slow hips which causes the swing to be slow. Long swings and hands not inside the ball at the point of impact will be impacted on the handle. The barrel of the bat rarely is impacted lately. It would be a good drill to at least start your swing even if you don't plan to make a full swing while watching the path of the ball over the plate. Most just stand there with the bat on the shoulder. There are a few other drills and corrections they could try. But who knows maybe they do these things and still are oblivious to hitting anyway.

After yesterday I'd probably say there not anymore.Fan of softball and respect for LSU softball it was not a good look.
Coaches and players laughing at the fact they bullied the ump to cancel the game after getting their tails kick.

Looking back now, once it started raining, it didn't stop for a while. Even if they had continued playing for a few more minutes, there was no way they were going to get the game to the middle of the 5th inning. I just wish the umps didn't let it look like Torina was the one who convinced them to stop the game because it turned the whole thing into an internet-made fiasco.
