So now we just have SDVTiger and LsuRussian just trolling people rather than trying to defend the lie Trump just tweeted.

That's usually what happens when someone realizes they're wrong and don't have the humility to admit it.

No he actually didn't say that. He made an assumption based on other knowns and experience, just as many of us do when you post.
quote:

include energy and timber. … And when you do, we lose $17 billion a year.’ It’s incredible.”
Based on his assumptions, Trump was 100% right.

And you're still trying to defend the lie you started with the OP.

I've noticed a pattern with your morning melt threads: 1) you start a thread using the premise that Trump is bad based on some obscure remark he or one of his minions made, 2) you post a link that contradicts your point and confirms what Trump said is accurate, 3) you start contradicting your own OP as if it proves your original point trying to hide the fact that you've contradicted your OP, 4) you post other links, sometimes not even related to your OP, trying to save face, and, 5) you claim victory by insulting other posters who have pointed out your errors.

Your morning melts are ALWAYS good for a belly laugh. Thank you!

https://www.mediaite.com/tv/trump-insists-trade-deficit-exists-after-tapes-leak-of-him-lying-to-justin-trudeau/

Donald Trump says" "We do have a Trade Deficit with Canada, as we do with almost all countries (some of them massive). P.M. Justin Trudeau of Canada, a very good guy, doesn’t like saying that Canada has a Surplus vs. the U.S.(negotiating), but they do...they almost all do...and that’s how I know!"

Trump's trade representative says the opposite: “The U.S. goods and services trade surplus with Canada was $12.5 billion in 2016.”

This is a pretty long and pathetic deflection from the topic.

But as we can all see you are wrong on the trade surplus/deficit issue so that's all you've got left.

Post the quote in the article where Trump and Trudeau were talking about steel and aluminum.

You cant. You just made that up.
No, I didn't. I'm not just relying on the WaPo propaganda piece you posted. I've searched other articles about why the two leaders were even discussing trade when they met.

They were there to discuss renegotiating NAFTA which was the result of Trump "temporarily" excluding Canada (and Mexico) from the steel and aluminum tariffs. If the NAFTA changes don't happen, Trump is still free to put the tariffs on "Canadian" steel and aluminum.

Trudeau was especially concerned that "pass through" steel and aluminum which entered Canada from other countries and then was exported to the U.S. not be excluded from the tariff exemption. Those materials were not processed in Canada but were simply using the benefit of Canada's favorable trade agreement with the U.S. to be ultimately shipped (passed through) to the U.S. under NAFTA terms and conditions with Canada receiving a markup price on those goods.

That is a loophole that Trump wants closed.

I realize that critical thinking is not your strong point but that is why I mentioned the steel and aluminum discussion at their meeting.

Trump lies. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

When did Trump tell these donors last night that the conversation was only about steel and aluminum tariffs?

Maybe you think that's what he should have said, but you can just make it up.

You see, your statement above is just another example of a strawman argument that you resort to in order to save face.

You're worse than a teenage girl you're so desperate not to have your ignorance displayed for everyone to see.

How do you compute a $17 billion/year deficit dumb arse. The article stated, "Well, sir, you're actually right. We have no deficit but that doesn't include energy and timber . . . And when you do, we lose $17 billion a year.' It's incredible."
thats not the article sating it, its the article quoting trump, its trumps version of what was said, in a quote that begins with him admitting that he simply makes things up, that his "facts" have no basis in reality and are just things he blurts out.

quote:

I said, ‘Wrong, Justin, you do.’ I didn’t even know. ... I had no idea. I just said, ‘You’re wrong.’
im sure world leaders everywhere will love knowing that the President of the United States will take a stand based on random shite they made up on the fly during official state meetings.

obviously that gives us a lot of credibility.

You said the Trade point Trump was trying to make at the fundraiser was about steel and aluminum. I simply asked you to provide any evidence to support your claim. You couldn't.
