Exactly. We’ve been in worse cap situations and made big signings. We had 0 space when we signed Byrd
ETA: if we get him to a visit and we are in close proximity to what he wants then he will be a Saint. I don’t think he gets $15+mil from any team. Not when you’re 31

Yeah.
I still want to be smart about it, but we have to go all in for 2 years.
After that it is a bit of a rebuild anyway.

Pretty sure he still has a hefty cap hit the season after he leaves (2020). Spotrac doesn't show us owing him anything in 2020 and overthecap is down for me, but he definitely has that auto-void season that's always used to spread out cap hits.
