The Lakers are 20-9 since January 7th. During that time, Julius Randle is averaging 18.9 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game while shooting 57.4 percent from the field.
Went for 26 and 13 last night against Denver, after he went for 26/14/7 against Cleveland on Sunday.
And the Lakers were rumored to trade this guy?
His scoring has increased from 15 in January, to 19 in February, and now its currently 22 PPG in March.
Its a pity the Lakers went through a stretch of injuries earlier in the season. They have won 12 of their last 13 home games and are currently 31-36.
Possible playoff team next year if Ingram and Lonzo keep improving, and they decide to keep Randle.

Would he still be balling if the stat was:
23+ PTS, 9+ REB, 4+ AST since Feb 1st instead?
Cuz only 3 players have done that.

It was mind boggling to me that he wasn't getting more minutes to start the season. I've been a big fan of Randle's and am impressed how he has steadily improved areas of his game year-to-year. Sometimes the answer is right in front of you while you're too busy looking elsewhere.

I think he used to be pretty shite on defense. I haven't watched much of him this year, but shite defense and lack of shooting could be why people were lower on him.

p0eople were low on him because he wasn't a unicorn.
he has shortish, at least, not long, arms.
he's a ball dominant power forward who can't shoot lol. but he is a glass cleaner
ive always liked him and always thought he was undervalued.
you don't give up on a player that is on a rookie scale contract if they are good enough to see the floor at all
dude has been getting rumored to not be part of their plans since kobe retired

It's been rumored all year that they would have to let Randle walk in free agency to clear enough cap space to make a run at Lebron and George. Basically the only way LA could retain Randle and have two max FA spots is if they can dump Luol Deng onto someone with assets attached, similar to the Demarre Carroll trade over the summer.
It seems like the Lakers fans otb are in unanimous agreement that the best plan now would be go after one FA (George) and re-sign Randle and still maintain a max FA spot for the following summer

Yeah, defense and lapses in decision making were the big knocks on him. But he's come a long way defensively and is actually pretty good on that end of the floor now. He still needs to work not making dumb mistakes and improving his shooting range, but he has improved in those areas too. That's really a big reason why I am high on him -- he recognizes his weaknesses and obviously puts in the work in the offseason to address them.

If they keep winning like this, they could theoretically be a playoff team THIS year

I am pretty sure the Mavs are going to through the bank at him. If Lebron goes there, or if he strings LA along for long enough Randle may end up a Mav.

He is from the DFW area so Cuban wants to bring him home. And with Dirk (likely) retiring after this season they need some reason to get fans to come to the games (their performance isn't doing it).

I was in that number hoping the Lake Show would trade him.
I am no longer standing on that platform.
His light bulb went on.

The Lakers cleared room for 2 max FAs in the Clarkson trade. So they can sign and still keep Randle. Funny he started playing lights out once he and Clarkson were put on the trading block. I don't know how you get rid of him now. His head is finally in it. Lakers don't need Bron. Just get Paul George and keep Randle.

I know this is about Randle, but holy crap what incredible #s from Lebron at this point in his career.

Gotta find a way to keep him. Even if it means signing 1 max player. Totally fine with that, but Julius is untouchable at this point

That's only if they renounce Randle's cap hold. Deng absolutely has to be moved if the Lakers want to be able to match whatever offer Randle gets and be able to max Lebron and PG.

Getting a look at an impressive Kuzma. Ironically Randle's minutes began increasing more after Boogie Cousins was injured and the Lakers management promptly reshifted their focus to 2019 Free Agency 1 week after Cousins injury.
I believe PG and Cousins( making Randle expendable) were the Lakers main targets until the Achilles tear, not LeBron. I've never seriously bought the LeBron to L.A. talk.

It's funny how ESPN (or anyone) will manipulate a group of stats together to have a group of <5 people together. Cause Randle is below every guy above him in each stat.
No discredit to Randle though. He is a starting NBA PF, I believe it.
