The one I got from Academy isn't doing the job. Can someone recommend me a good burner that can get the pot back to boiling with little lag time?

The king cookers suck. Like really suck.
I had one for 5 years and finally dumped it and got the Bayou classic double burner
It feels 10x sturdier and better built

Idk if what your issue is because of the burner but a 60lb regulator and drilling out your burner just a bit does wonders

Double jet burner.
Needle valve, no regulator.
Rocket pot.

Bayou Classic Stainless Double Jet is the one I have. That and a rocket pot = quick boil time

I bought one of Rocket Pots new models the burner attached and drain faucet.... boils 80qt in 8 minutes. Maybe faster i just havent turned it up all the way.

As someone said, your regulator could be your problem. A good/no regulator is more important than the burner.

My neighbor has a Bayou Classic KAB6 burner he uses with a 120 qt pot. Boils the water quickly (haven't timed it though).
