Yea. Just don't go try the unimproved 4 mile trail.

But a hike to the first falls and creek bed is definitely doable for that age. Don't let them little shite heads wear flip-flops or sandals though.

Also there's a picnic area at the trail head we've used after a hike. It's suitable.

Here's a nearby alternative hike that you may try. LINK It doesn't have the hills like Tunica so it may fit your needs more as a first hike, but it does have a creek and a pond and a gazebo on the pond where the kids can peer down at the fish. You could stop in St. Francisville for some picnic supplies or dinner at "The Francis" after the hike.
There are rattlesnakes everywhere in the Feliciana's, including the Mary Ann Brown area and Tunica. I will say, that in all the many years I have hiked Tunica, I have never encountered one there, but did see one crossing the road near St. Francisville. BTW I don't think that photo posted is at Tunica, as they don't have pine needles laying on the ground there because it is primarily hardwood forest.

My pic was taken at tunica. Rattlesnake was on the cleared trail, we just waited for him to slither away so we could pass. That was taken 2016 iirc

Coming down from Ouachita Parish for first visit to Tunica Hills. I see there is a north tract and a south tract. Where do I want to go as a first timer, and where do I turn off 61, at Angola?

And don't miss the turn off or you will end up at Angola (spoken from experience)

That seems like an excessive penalty just for missing a turn.

There was a lion attack there last year. Other than that, the only thing you have to worry about are panthers, snakes, and highwaymen.

We did Clark Creek by the pond store. We went to the first two waterfalls on the main trail and walked back through the creek bed. I failed to mention that we had a 10 month also that my wife strapped to her. We had a blast and the kids handled it well.

I took my family last spring. They had a blast until the hike out. Almost had to carry the six year old.
