Just finished some Emmit Williams and Naz Reid highlights

The best way I can describe Williams is the dude is a VIOLENT player on the court. He doesnt just dunk it, he slams it down so you feel it for minutes.

Can they box out and play D will be the bigger question.

Bigby-Williams, Naz and Emmitt just need to play physical in the paint and grab some rebounds for Christ sake.

Reid, Williams and Days are among the best rebounders coming out of high school, objectively measured out in tournaments/AAU circuit.
Not to mention Bigby-Williams grabbed something like 14 boards a game in JUCO.
Rebounding woes will be a thing of the past.

Though he is just 6-foot-7 as a power forward, he makes up for a relative lack of height with a near 7-foot wingspan, not dissimilar to the measurements former Tiger shotblocker and current Miami Heat forward Jordan Mickey boasted out of high school.
He’s a killer on the glass, grabbing 11.2 rebounds per game and ranking second among all shoe league players (bested only to current Duke star Marvin Bagley in the EYBL) in offensive rebounding percentage (14.4%) and defensive rebounding percentage (25.6% – just behind Reid, who grabbed 25.9% on the Under Armour circuit).
In fact, LSU has, in Days, Reid, and Williams, three of the best eight defensive rebounders from the 17U shoe circuit last spring, and three of the six best who aren’t already in college (Bagley and Missouri’s Jontay Porter reclassified from 2018 to 2017).
While he’s not exactly Mickey as a rim protector, he did rank third in EYBL in block percentage and blocked 1.6 shots per game. (Reid ranked second).
Seriously, start to get excited, these guys are beasts. 2 of the Top 3 shot blockers on AAU circuit and 3 of the Top 6 rebounders.

Williams brings the intensity LSU lacks right now (except for Rachal). KBW is a Tyrus Thomas type of player. He's not there to run offense through. He's there to block shots, dominate the glass and dunk everything.
I like the Mickey comparison for E. Williams, but I don't think he has the timing of Mickey. Yes he was long, but Mickey had incredible timing that just can't be taught.

What I like most about Williams is his demeanor. He’s straight up nasty, willing to go nose to nose with anyone. He’s ferocious on both ends of the floor. He wants to dunk everything on offense, block everything on defense, and grab every rebound.

One person I talked to who’s scouted Williams as much as anyone in the country called him “a high motor beast.” He will be an enforcer from day one, a real tone-setter. Yeah they said as much that he wont block as many shots like Mickey did, but the size and motor comparison is as close as it gets.

He’s a lot more physical than Mickey and I can’t stress that enough. You’re right Mickey had great timing and probly jumps higher, Williams has more foot speed and explosion. Think of a Vernell Singleton/Jamie Lloreda hybrid.

If this is the type of player he is that is very encouraging, as these were great motor, high energy and effort guys and that always translates to good things for the team.
Lloreda had definite issues functioning in your typical campus setting outside the lines, but inside the lines I don't know that I've seen anyone that put forth more effort more consistently. He was a high-high motor guy.

Well I wasn’t talking about off the court issues lol, I meant he’s in between those guys physically and his type of game. He’s bigger than Vernell but has that type of explosive athleticism with the tough mentality, physicality and agressive manner of attacking the glass like lloreda did. I think Tiger fans will fall in love with his style of play.
