I’ve found I’m really predominantly Centrist, but I lean left because it seems like there’s more compassion in the Dem party. GOP likes the fear mongering and hypocrisy. Billy Graham Jr issued any more “mulligans” for the Don? I mean like he said...that was a long time ago when Don was 61. Lol. FFS

I don't recall seeing anything relating to freedom of speech within the Bible, and I'd suspect if it really were there it wouldn't have taken Christians 1700+ years to figure that out.

Sorry, not seeing it. If that's representative of a call to allow people to speak their minds freely because you'd like to speak your mind freely, it could also apply to gay marriage seeing as, surely, you'd want to be able to marry whomever you want so you'd allow others that same freedom.

Maybe they're typically not as dumb & naive as Dem's?
If you're over the age of 28, have a family or job, and still voting 100% Dem then you're just an idiot.

Hmmm, maybe it is you, one who is turning away from the truth and doesn't understand.

Freedom of speech protects speech about homosexuality. Freedom to marry whomever is not included under the category of free speech.

Christians who had a hand in setting the rule of law in this country came from a situation where people were being persecuted for not following Catholic doctrine. Many suffered and were martyred for it. They set out to build a society that gave freedoms to all free people (slavery is obviously the terrible contradiction). The political philosophy was born from Jewish and Christian philosophy on good governence.

"What makes evangelicals Republican?"
For me, it is as simple as this:
While I do not like to fart in my pants, it sure beats crapping in them. Both of them stink, but one is far worse than the other. Being forced to choose between the two, I will choose the lesser unpleasant thing because it has far fewer repercussions.
Graphic I know, but pretty much sums it up.

While I don’t agree with your viewpoints, I try to understand them from your perspective.
But when you pass judgment like you do, it makes it really tough to empathize.
I don’t get the impression that you truly want answers; rather, you seem to be looking to do battle.
Why is that?

I wasn't looking for answers. I gave a point of view.

I'm not looking for answers in general, either. In general I already know the answers.
