MPG requirements for auto manufacturers have changed. So that's a solution that isn't taxes.
That's a tax.
Not a tax so much as a call for innovation
If vehicles become more expensive that's an unintended consequence
And the increased cost is somewhat offset by the fuel savings. And no one is forcing you to buy a newer car. So it's a voluntary tax.

Researchers' understanding that "pending catastrophes" garner more attention and funding dollars isn't much of a conspiracy.

Do you deny that opposition to climate change was initiated by big oil?
I have no idea where the opposition originated. It doesn't really matter if the data being presented is not being intentionally changed to paint a false narrative like all the evidence pointing to anthropological climate change is.

And when all of that data is thrown into the garbage the real data still points to the conclusion that anthropological climate change is real.
But still exaggerated and politicized to the point it's basically activism masquerading as science. Kinda hoaxy if you will.

Do you deny support was initiated by activists ?

Riiiiiiiight...and a whole new industry of vape was propped up through govt subsidies.
Vaping came along well after scientists had proved smoking was bad for you
There was plenty of hard evidence going back to the 1930s that smoking was terrible for you. Big tobacco paid off a bunch of junk scientists to quite effectively cast doubt on the real science.
Big oil played out of the same playbook as big tobacco. And judging by the responses in this thread they were equally as effective.

This is done by irresponsible journalists and politicians alike. I do not dispute that.

Yeah. It was sarcasm. But I didn’t think a religious zealot could see that. I’m done giving your dumb fricking arse anymore attention today. You bore me.

It's not technically a tax. It's an increase in the cost of vehicles because of innovation requirements.
So not technically a tax but if you're hellbent on calling it that it's a voluntary one.

If you started a thread where you were outnumbered by about 20 to 1 do you think you'd have time to address every response in detail?

On a side note cars today are fricking awesome compared to just 15 or so years ago
I like getting over 30 MPG on the highway

Climate change isn't a hoax. The climate has been changing since the earth was created and will continue to do so, whether we like it or not and whether we continue to live in an industrial world or go back to living in mud huts and using horses for transportation.

Why do you think the solution to mitigating climate change is living in mud huts?

For instance, this stupid response if yours...

I'm not looking for attention. I was actually hoping this thread would generate more meaningful discussion.
It looks like it's just canned responses from people who have a scientific opinion based on their political preferences (something that is completely fricking illogical when you think about it)
