It's a raw team, but there's a lot of talent... going to be interesting what happens with the positioning once Watson (I guess Cabrera goes to the bench) and Smith (no idea who comes out) come back.

It’s a bit of a down pitching year overall to this point, but if they can figure it out a deep run is possible.

I love baseball season.

I am guessing they are being super cautious with Watson because there is no real need to rush him back. We will have some good problems to have if this offense ever gets to full strength. I don't think Cabrera ever finds himself on the bench. My guess would be Jordan, but the time to decide that will come sooner than the infield. I am thinking Cabrera sits when they plan to pitch him, giving Jordan a chance to play.

The infield seems more difficult to pick right now, but there is much more time for this to play out. Just guessing, Hughes will be the odd man out when the dust settles, which is really hard to say because he is playing so great. Just over time I think Slaughter will win out and be the one to make himself impossible to bench. Slaughter at first sometimes is not out of the question either.

Bottom line, we will have some really really solid players on the bench if this team ever gets healthy. If the pitching comes around with Labas and Storz coming back, the sky is the limit. And by sky, I mean another trip to Omaha.

Seems like we are getting shut down early in every game and then come on strong from about the 5th inning on in all the wins. Anyone have guess to why that is? A lot of the games the pitching has done the same.

I honestly think Bain and Cabrera will end up platooning depending on the pitcher. No way that the Jordan brothers dont start the majority of games in the SEC when the time comes. And it obviously makes it hard to plug them in certain postitions, but it’s clear Paul is grooming Bryce hard at 1B right now. He can then put Beau at DH when Cabrera plays LF and put Beau at LF when Bain DH’s.

With the whole Smith/Hughes SS ordeal... thats more complicated. If Slaughter gets his bat back like shown in the last 2 games, it would be hard to sit him, but there is still time to see who is more valuable with Slaughter vs Hal in the long run of the season. (Being that Josh Smith can play either on the left side of the infield).

Bottom line, We have a shite LOAD of depth this year and I havent even mentioned Coomes and Reid who are SOLID players off the bench that would start on most other teams in the SEC.
