Add Shelvin to that mix. Our front seven should be very stout next year.

From Dellenger's article on our D-line:

quote:

Number of LSU D-linemen in spring: 11

Before we begin writing specifics about some of these guys, let's list them all. As you'll notice, the list includes LSU's B-outside linebacker position, a hybrid edge rusher spot:
•Jr. Rashard Lawrence (DE)
•Jr. Breiden Fehoko (DE)
•Jr. Travez Moore (B-OLB)
•Jr. Ed Alexander (NG)
•RSo. Glen Logan (DE/NG)
•So. K'Lavon Chaisson (B-OLB)
•So. Neil Farrell (DE)
•RSo. Andre Anthony (B-OLB)
•RFr. Tyler Shelvin (NG)
•RFr. Justin Thomas (DE)
•Fr. Davin Cotton (DE)

quote:

Another seven linemen and edge rushers will arrive this summer as part of the 2018 class, pushing the number to a whopping 18. At times last season, the Tigers had six healthy scholarship linemen, and that's including the B-OLB position.

LINK

Not a single senior in the group. We can expect a couple to declare after this season, but we are in pretty good shape.

Thats a big line.
Alexander has to eat up 2 blocks or our lb corp has to be really good about shedding blocks.
we are gonna need to see lawrence and fehoko establish themselves as a legit passing game disrupters. their sacks dont have to be off the charts but they have to make qbs move in the pocket and be uncomfortable.
i think they are up for the challenge.

The defense is not, and never has been, the concern about this team and/or program. They will be stought AF. The question is whether or not the offense can put points on the board and if the HC can get out of his own way.

I'm not disagreeing that they should be good, but does having an unproven D-line coach give you any pause at all? Has DJ ever even coached D-line before? I honestly don't know.

Probably Miami, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Bama and one other team that really shouldn't.

Hopefully they can give MiamiU fits and disrupt their game. I believe the OLine will be better and CAN provide the protection needed to beat MiamiU 's D.

Don't t carried away, they haven't done anything yet, but both Lawrence and Alexander have tremendous potential. Fehoko is a player with potential to that was just steady at Texas Tech, I just like the depth that they have, a shite load of good players.

Lawrence is very good, but he has not shown greatness yet. Maybe this year he will. Alexander has shown a lack of conditioning. Maybe he’ll mature this year. And maybe Fehoko will be the guy who breaks the tradition of much-ballyhooed ineligibles disappointing us.

Maybe, maybe and maybe. The only certainty is that they are only three guys. And we need about seven to man those three positions - six to rotate and a seventh to substitute for the one who will inevitably be injured, fail out, or fail drug tests.

I’m happy about the possibilities, but they remain just that.

Devin White gonna eat.

With the potential of that dline he will be free to fly all over the field.

Just going to need Chaisson and company to provide pressure in the passing game

Get ready to see Shelvin in the middle a LOT! He's just too good not to beat out Alexander

I love how some fans think because one of our units is highly regarded, it means we are destined to beat Bama and roll into Atlanta.
