our potential enemies profit off their slave like labor laws

I remember the days when the conservatives would be laughing at liberals crying about that shite.

Good times.

I think what we're starting to see is the difference between conservatism and nationalism.

25% on steel? How is this going to affect the price of goods composed of steel?

They'll go up. Hooray for US steel, but consumers just took one on the chin.

Free Trade always had and HAS protections in place for rogue nations. Just like with Reagan and Harley.

This could have unintended negative consequences. For example Canadian steel fabricators undercutting US steel fabricators for O&G and chemical plant equipment (already happening as it is because of exchange rates), because the Canadians can import their steel in from wherever without a tariff, and then sell the finished product to a US based company with no tariffs.

Someone’s always gotta be the loser with tariffs, just giving an example I’m very familiar with.

This is where our Dem Commie Lib Prog Filth come in, they want Americans to be slave labor too! See! A level playing field. It just happens to be the lowest level sub standard field ever.

The problem is the political regulation. You fix that not interfere in the free market. His punishes consumers

This is my third favorite GEOtUs policy behind stifling foreigners through border patrol / fewer immigrants and tax cuts.

A truly free market isn't supposed to protect those who can't compete.

Wait, Canada (the largest supplier of imported steel) has "slave labor?"

Interesting.

No but neither is what we have now. If we let American businesses use the same regs and wages that foreign companies do, id be all for unfettered free trade

I don't like it but at some point someone had to pay the piper.

Did you just throw the word conservatism in there to be a dog whistle? This is good for our country in the long run if it spurs steel industry growth. It's going to hurt like a motherfricker for a while, though.
