If you raise the age to buy guns to 21, the age to enter the military should also be 21

i never had the pleasure of enlisting. Isn't there more to the military than just shooting guns?

Wouldn't raising the enlistment age cause unattended consequences with enrollment?

A lot of kids who can't afford college will join the military due to the benefits and opportunities they provide.

If we raise the age, what happens to those kids that would have enrolled once they get out of highschool?

No.

You can enlist right now at 17 with parental consent, but you can't vote until 18.

Age to buy guns should not be raised.

The military members and their spouses will be exempt from this law. Now what's your issue?

Sure.

But many possess and use them as art of their job.

and carry them on their person.

We need to prevent 18-20 year olds from having guns, no?

Interestingly, there is an expressed constitutional right to keep and bear arms as a civilian. There is no such expressed constitutional right to join a standing federal army.

Keep it at 18 if they are willing to go through the same training period as those that enlist.

Sure. But every marine is a rifle man and every soldier is able to handle a weapon and fight.
