Rondo's leadership

From cussing the team out after that first half to having to be pulled back cause he was past the coaches line coaching on the last possession. His ability to lead this group can't be understated.
And Alvin's awareness to leave him on the bench during important defensive stretches is refreshing.
I hope he gives us a friendly deal to hang with his boys, play reduced minutes, and coach his arse off.

I fully agree. We need him next year on a team friendly deal!

hire him as a player/coach next year
later years bill russell style (sarcasm in case you can't detect...)

or at least a coach if he's no longer playing. He can definitely maybe assume a lesser minute role and still serve same role. i think he has a coaching future.

That’s the first thing I noticed when he arrived. I was in the blender for an earlier game. Watching him on the sidelines is great. He coaches the entire time. He pulls the younger guys to the side and teaches them. It’s great to watch.

Rondo ain’t going anywhere. He loves Boogie, AD, and Mirotic. He knows this team is close. We really need to figure out how we turn next year’s first and Ajinca into a pass first PG that isn’t going to break the bank.

i love the idea of rondo as a leader...he's exactly the hardass this team needed.
on the court, per 100 possessions, he's a net -7.4 in ORTG. thats catastrophic

Does anyone have the ratings since Boogie injury? He disappears still on defense at times and makes some boneheaded plays on offense, but his play nonetheless looks nowhere near as bad as it did earlier in the season.
Also, him taking the ball out of bounds lately has been a disaster. He seems to lack the height to throw it over the top. That was heads up to not pass it to AD after the first timeout though. I think he was right in saying it would have carried him front to back. Credit to Joel and Wesley for pointing that out. A+ commentary.

Since the Cousins injury his net rating is -1.0. A 101.7 ORtg and a 102.6 DRtg. The same set of stats that condemned Rondo also said his pairing with Cousins was a problem. Now that -1.0 is playing with a lot of Jrue and AD. I'd still like to see how he does playing with the bench unit. Tim Frazier had a -3.0 NetRtg last year. So I think you could live with Rondo as the backup with all the other stuff he brings.

whats his on/off since boogie-mageddon?
Posted on 3/1/18 at 4:05 pm to TigerinATL
in Jan (all but 2 with boogie) rondo was 97.8/109.8 (-12.0).
in Feb (all w/o boogie) he was 103.8/102.4 (+1.5).
both according to nba.com stats page

From 1/27 til today.
Rondo
On 101.7 102.6 -1.0
Off 110.6 110.0 0.6
He still is making the team worse, although he's trending towards positive since Boogie went down. But again, Fraizer was a -3.0 NetRtg last year, so if Rondo can do -1.0 as the backup PG, that's something we can live with.
