Kenyon Green, 5-star OL - tidbit from SEC Country at The Opening Houston

I have seen that there are one or two posters, who like me, are very curious about Kenyon Green's recruitment. There was some information posted by Sam Spiegs in his "Opening" update.
Kenyon Green, 5-star OL
The one-time LSU verbal has shed weight and looks to have grown a few inches. More importantly, Green played with a nasty streak at right tackle and was the top-performing offensive lineman up until an injury early on in the afternoon.
Green indicated that Alabama, Texas A&M and Oklahoma are courting him the hardest for now, but LSU and Texas remain squarely in the picture. Both programs have new offensive line coaches, and James Cregg for LSU, is making a serious impression on the 5-star lineman. He is in line to make a return to Baton Rouge at some point this spring.
Another top O-lineman at the camp:
Javonne Shepherd, 4-star OL
Shepherd, a top-300 offensive tackle, boasts an impressive frame and some brute strength. He put that on display battling 4-star edge-rusher Nelson Ceaser, one of the most effective defensive end/outside linebackers on hand in the camp.
Shepherd gave an early top group of Alabama, Texas, Texas A&M and Oklahoma, among others, but suggested that LSU is not that far off. In fact, his early relationship with Cregg is having a profound impact on the 6-foot-7, 300-pounder and a visit is a realistic possibility later this spring. LSU’s new offensive line coach and his NFL pedigree is definitely working in the team’s favor with the 2019 linemen.
The article also has updates on:
Grant Gunnell, 4-star QB
Erick Young, 4-star CB
Jamal Morris, 4-star S
Marcus Stripling, 4-star DE
Marcus Banks, 4-star CB
Austin Stogner, 4-star TE
Thomas Gordon, 3-star TE (an LSU legacy)
Arjei Henderson, 5-star WR
Brandon Legendre, 3-star ATH
2020:
Jacobi Bellazin, 4-star WR
Dwight McGlothern, 4-star CB
Zachary Evans, 4-star RB

My friend spoke to his dad, at the last camp he went to. Said he got a bad vibe that the kid really likes bama. hope our new coach can do some work.

Of course the kid likes Bama! kids these days are lazy instead of going to a school you truly like and rooted for your whole life, be the one of the key pieces And help them win a national championshipThey choose go to Bama because you’re almost guaranteed to play for a national championship.

It's not that people don't want to hear it. It's more they know the guy has no clue what he is talking about.
Already in this thread a statement was made like it is a FACT that he was going to A&M and then someone received a VIBE that he is going to Bama.
It could be either of those or Oklahoma or anywhere in between.
He was committed to LSU for over a year.
If he is not a huge fan of a team and solid on going with his heart, it will come down to other factors. One may be who he thinks will give him the best opportunity to not only be an NFL draft pick but a high NFL draft pick.

Green with Kardell would absolutely be nothing short of spectacular. This objective should be #2 of priorities (with QBs being #1 and DBs #3). Go all out is what I'm saying.
Shepherd is more than good enough, and for an OL is a physical specimen with more upside in both aspects. If we were to get him with Kardell instead of Green, I wouldn't wince, cry, or be sad one little bit. Same objective would be achieved in my mind.
I'm still wondering where both Cregg and Kardell are at as far as playing OT. If we see him spending time there his Sr season we'll have our answer.

Right, that's it. Can't have anything to do with the coaches and the recruiting process, gotta be the kids are lazy.

It's a results based process. If we do well this year and Cregg can get the OL to gel it will certainly make LSU more attractive. Cregg also brings NFL cred so that is a plus as well.
If we can show Green that we are adding 2/3 RB targets, have an improved offense and an OL coach that knows how to develop him and get him to the NFL then we have a solid shot. Kardell selling the program also helps.
Just gotta let the process play out.

If you can get better, win Championships and still get drafted, Why wouldn't you attend Bama?

Plus, you get a charger and some side cash to boot.

I want Spiegs to be right all of the time when he posts all the positive to LSU

True. He tends to be the most ambitious guy out there when projecting LSU targets.
We closed 2017 with a lot of negative impacts which I think have us on our heels, including the recruiting process. A good product on the field in 2018 is crucial for that 2019 class and can erase most of the 2017 negatives. I really see 2018 as a big make or break season due to the potential to load up on 2019 talent.

Both are going to A&M.
