It's a results based process. If we do well this year and Cregg can get the OL to gel it will certainly make LSU more attractive. Cregg also brings NFL cred so that is a plus as well.

If we can show Green that we are adding 2/3 RB targets, have an improved offense and an OL coach that knows how to develop him and get him to the NFL then we have a solid shot. Kardell selling the program also helps.

Just gotta let the process play out.
yep, agreed.

Two things that I think will (and should) play into that process:

1. We will play Shepherd off of Green. Depth chart arguments, early playing time, etc.

2. With NFL experience comes NFL bias (in a good sense). Shepherd is a slightly better NFL prospect from a physical build aspect (see this excellent fresh off the presses recruiting article LINK).

If you combine the two, then you tell Shepard he should be rated higher (that's what the 5* is for, NFL prospects) and that we, LSU, recognize that because we, LSU, have Cregg. So come here and be THE tackle of the future instead of being behind the higher rated Green.

It doesn't matter which one will be better, because no one knows and they both will probably be pretty freaking good. The point is we can combine these factors into a 'sales pitch' and hopefully pull one of the two (I'd be happy with either):
A) both leaning to same school, as OTs
B) NFL wise, the lower rated OT is a better prospect
C) Green has already had and left behind interest in us
D) we have that NFL pedigree (somewhat) to back those up

I wouldn’t go that far. Last year Texas was able to keep top talent in state. This year TAMU will likely do the same. LSU should still be able to get their pick. I just know that Green is being pushed toward TAMU.

Green and Shepherd will both be A&M more than likely.

I guess there should be a period in there somewhere.

Guess you didn't see where a 3-star player LSU just signed that was named 1st team 6A all-state in Florida. I know you will think this sucks, but it is what it is.

Well I’ll be sure to schedule time off of the championship celebration since we have an all state TE. I mean too bad Miles never signed any 6A Florida All State TEs

Also please note again the glaring hypocrisy by you to tout accolades like this but if we have guys that aren’t routes it’s because the coaches know more than the media

You think that because you are a coach O fan and don’t understand what people that are LSU fans think

Are you weirding out here? I just posted a fact about a 3-star recruit that was rated as the 19th best of 22 signees who was named to the Florida 6A first team. I knew you would hate the news.

What does this have to do with anything posted in this thread? Sorry I posted the information. Didn't know the good LSU news would make you a total head-case.

Yeah, I have NO IDEA what this shite is supposed to mean. The news of the 3-star being named 1st team 6A in Florida is really messing you up.

???? What time did you start drinking? It's a little early to be sloshed isn't it?

Aggh’s faux-mentum will disappear once they field their typical soft team.

As a self-labeled LSU fan, do you EVER post anything positive about any program?

Maybe you have. Maybe I just missed them all. All I ever see is one douchy negative post after another.

You have to stay on top of these kids though, that's what it's all about, they want to see how much you want them, part of the reason he decommitted in the first place wanting to see who really wants him and how much. As they are always saying "I want to feel the love", that's what they're talking about. He decommitted from LSU, and now they have backed off him somewhat, you can't do that because a young mind is easily impressionable. He'll take it as LSU not being as interested in him as they once were, and now Alabama has taken and used that to their advantage to jump on him.

But this is just the start of a long recruiting season, so I'm not to worried, and Cregg I think will be one of the better OLine coaches at LSU in awhile. He is an NFL OLine coach and I'm sure he'll use all of that to his full advantage to win these kids over.

Well if we're being honest, the program in best position to do that seems to be UGA.

You are definitely right about that. They took some of Bama's 5-stars this past class and finished at the top while bama was out of the top 5 for the first time in forever.

I think Smart was the driving force behind bama's great classes in the past.
