How can you explain how so many people are so ignorant about our country and its Constitution?

They do, but the teachers tend to be...

Even Senators don’t understand it.

Do you really think liberal havens like Broward County teach anything about the constitution?

He applied the law. Wrote opinions that were actually interesting to read.

We have the same logic with Gorsuch, minus the personality.

Scalia is wrong in that video. Try opening a PRIVATE restaurant for whites only and see how long you last. It absolutely does extend to "private" discrimination.

Like much of what is taught today, they have tests to memorize things.

But not discuss why

Yes but you have the unfortunate combination of school children having been raised by soft parents who never stuck to any punishment or moral code and increasingly liberal teachers who are beginning to be the oldest of said generation of students. Nothing is set is stone to these people. They think it’s stupid so it should change as their parents did when they got in trouble. This generation doesn’t understand anything being set in stone so-to-speak.

He was speaking to the 14th Ammendment.

What you describe has nothing to do with it.

ETA: I see Krieg addressed. Civil Rights act covers that. Not the 14th.

Civics!

Saying a Supreme Court Justice is wrong. Lol.

Even Breyer agreed.

If those two agree with each other, that means it’s pretty much bulletproof.

No.

Civics has been replaced by a course in post modern socialist interpretations of American history for the post-colonial, post-racist, and post-sexist world.

It's not a "this generation" think. The vast majority of adults don't know anything about the constitution or the US government.

Hell, most of this board barely has a working knowledge

We only got 9 weeks, 50 minutes a day, 5 days a week, to teach about the entirety of how the U.S. government and political system works. Let's just say it's not the most thorough education.

Arkansas required a full year of Civics in the 9th grade. But that was 28 years ago. Could be teaching Trotsky now for all I know.

I teach it. In Louisiana they've now rolled Economics into the curriculum so it's a half year of civics and a half year of economics
