They ritually kill curlews with their bare hands for their hat feathers.

No thanks.

If they were gulls or pigeons, maybe.

Yeah. We kicked some Masons' asses in a rumble at the Covington Sonic a couple weekends ago.

I’ve been in since 2012, I was 35 and that meant I was 25-30yrs younger than any of the active members. I enjoy the charitable work and they donate close to $50k every year to the school my kids go to. They start all the monthly meetings with a rosary and have various other activities throughout the month you can take part of. Like most things you will get out of it whatever effort you are willing to put into it.

I used to be pretty active. Council I was in was a pretty big one and we used to do a lot of fish frys during lent to raise money. We would also fry turkeys and such for a local homeless shelter for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Although I was probably much younger, it was a good group of guys to hang out with, have a couple beers and such.

Just keep in mind that you don't have to buy insurance. It's probably going to be better than any other term life insurance out there but the cost may be a bit more. It's not a prerequisite to be a brother knight.

My wife hates the monthly meeting since there is a 50/50 chance she will have to pick me up.

My dad is fourth degree and has been telling me I should consider joining. Went to our parish fish fry last night and was talking to a guy I know who is also a Knight. I asked him how do I join our parishes KofC. He said they are in the back at the end of mass. I just may join tomorrow. My wife and I have been talking about volunteering more at church and I figured this would be a great way to do so!!

I wanted to be but two things held me back. I'm a Methodist and not a pederast like Rebel.

I did my fourth degree a few years back, my grandfather was the grand knight at his council before he passed away in the mid 80s.

It is a good way to help with volunteering if that's what you want to do. Most if not all councils are usually involved in something in their respective communities.

3rd degree is a full member.

The 4th degrees are hard core and usually have more times on their hands. They do get some mighty fancy outfits to wear.

Been a KC since 2015, and I’m a 4th degree.

Some councils are very large and active, while some are small. It all depends on the church parish.

And yes, I have the full 4th degree uniform. Feather hat and all. Lol

ETA: we drink ALOT during meetings

True. I only did it because my grandfather and father were 4th degrees. I have my grandfather's cape but looks like Supreme changed the uniform. My inbox was spammed by our faithful navigator to get us to write letters to them because he hated the beret.
