I have never in my life seen the media reach such a level of advocacy before.

I do not know why this shooting and not the many that came before it finally sent them over the edge into full blown advocacy rather than simple reporting, but it really is extraordinary.
Think of how much money in free advertising the past few days has given the democratic party.
It really makes you marvel at how the republican party has so much power, when the gatekeepers of information (media, reporters, journalists, celebrities) are literal advocates of what the GOP is against.
I remember many "moral panics" of the past- the great crime wave of the 80s/90s, video game violence, sexual offenders (mccmartin pre school)......never have I seen what is traditionally an institution that reports news, the media, transform into an earth-sized megaphone as much as this event.
You have NBC running articles giving people instructions on how to turn in their rifles.
You have ABC running articles on who to call to get anti-nra billboards running in your area
it's astounding.

The media may know that shite is about to hit the fan. All their connections and lies will be shown. They need to have huge win and fast.

The level of scandal at the highest ranks of government right now would fuel a thousand Pulitzer Prizes had the perpetrators been republicans. Instead of being seekers of truth, they shill as the American ideal slowly dies.

We are at war with the media. They must be destroyed if this country is to continue on its path we were intended to

There really needs to be some sort of FCC regulation that prevents the kind of 'journalism' abuses we have suffered in the past 2 years.

Cruz probably wasn't arrested any of the 39 times the sheriff's department was called because they had a program in place to "equalize" arrests between minority and white kids and if course Cruz sounds Hispanic.
I am sure the media will be all over that, right?

And dems stroke their confirmation bias while lapping it up, never pausing to question why a supposedly objective media is telling me exactly what to think. They are unwitting members of a cult.
I still don’t understand what is behind it all. And is it designed to be this way or did it evolve. And if it’s just “money” where are the republican water carriers and line toe-ers in the media because no one purely interested in collecting a check would just cut off half their potential customer base so three or four news outlets could fight over the other half. And don’t tell me Fox because they are nowhere near the level of partisanship the others are, not even close.

More likely it’s because he didn’t have any assets they could seize and sell at auction.

I noticed it as well. Andrew Ross Sorkin was on CNBC the other day floating the idea that the banks should stop doing business with firearms dealers in order to take the lead on gun control. It wasn't even mentioned in a broader debate on gun control where other people were debating the topic with him. They started with the premise that gun control was desperately needed and Congress was standing in the way. The debate was really only on how they were going to accomplish the gun grab. It blew me away. Like you said, it was just unabashed advocacy by a host of one of their biggest news programs.

Oh I dont think it is 'unwitting' - I think they know exactly what they are doing.

They are running out of things that ring true to the general population attempting to vilify the non-liberals. Playing on the emotions because it was kids involved in this tragedy is a tragedy itself. We almost always over react in after action responses due to emotions. Emotions interfere with common sense and good judgement. We have become so overly sensitive to the feelings of crazies that we stop short of keeping our public safe rather than facing the real problems with mental health and dealing with it. This guy showed all kinds of symptoms and predictable actions as he pretty much raised his hand on multiple occasions and told anyone that would listen; "I am going to kill someone". And that's all I am going to say about that.

This would be awesome. So many people would rush to the shop to buy guns, with cash, and order guns, with cash...the manufacturers would likely make more money than they otherwise would make.
I would immediately order something from LMT. Just to piss off the anti-gun frickface pieces of garbage. Hell, maybe I'll order ten just to make them miserable. We'd GANGSACK them bitches.

This amazes me. The liberal/democrat philosophy is preached 24/7 (other than Fox) on a national level by news, entertainment, and advertising, yet Republicans are still hanging in there. I don't see it continuing, but am amazed the conservative philosophy has lasted this long.

They did the same thing trying to get Hillary elected. The silent majority said think again.
This is, like others have said, them throwing everything they have left in the tank at the public. It’s already been proven these shootings are FFs, and that these kids doing interviews are actors. Besides, they’re kids. I don’t give a shite what some douche going through puberty thinks when it comes to constitutional amendments.

Joseph Goebbels would be proud and jealous of the American propaganda machine in effect today. It's his wet dream.

They received their marching orders from Soros and the DNC, plain and simple. They know not to let a good crisis go to waste, so they seek this as a great opportunity to hit TRUMP and the Republicans ahead of the 2018 mid-terms.

Is it possible that you’re on the wrong side of history on this issue?

I read an article the other day that said Cruz purchased his AR-15 "approximately one year ago" while at the same time lamenting that Trump rescinded Obama's executive order on gun purchases and mental illness in February 2017. Of course they mentioned the exact date that Trump issued his Executive Order although I can't remember the date off the top of my head and I'm too lazy to look it up right now.
I'm very curious as to the exact date that Cruz purchased his AR-15, was it before or after Trump rescinded that mental health EO. Based on the way that the article was written I feel fairly confident that it was during the Obama era regulation.

I have, remember the 2016 GE? The Enemedia was an absolute advocate for HRC. Are we seeing a pattern of behavior? I think we are!
