If each school would budget $200,000.00 for two armed security personnel, it would cut down on these issues dramatically. It may not be a wholesale deterrent but it would provide structure to have at least two guards at every school. Their central role would only be weapons violence and preventions. Not breaking up school fights.
There also needs to be some common sense and responsibility on behalf of the kids. If you see some idiot who you think may be a threat, it needs to be reported. Some measure of responsibility has to be assumed. Look, when we were in HS, we all knew who the threats were. Everyone knew those oddballs, who they were and we kept an eye on them.
Do kids do that nowadays? Hell if I know but they should be reporting such behavior.

That's fine with me as long as they don't go on TV en masse and demand that the adults immediately make a law that violates any of our constitutional rights.
