I live in a city that has more blacks than whites, and when i went the theater was about 90% white, just like for every other movie i go see.

This is exactly how I watch DC movies...or I just skip them completely. None of them have been worth the time or money.

Have yet to completely finish Justice League. It's just dull and pointless and they are butchering the greatest team of all time. Also the one thing I was excited for, Mamoa as Aquaman, his acting is almost as bad as Godots. Any hope I had for the aquaman movie is now tragically gone...makes me sad.

The only reason I'm going to see aquaman is because Amber Heard is in it.

You bite your tongue. Gal Gadot can do no wrong.

As for Black Panther

****Spoiler Alert****
Anyone find it dumb that the whole reason for the conflict (to keep their technology a secret) was just flipped at the end. And they were basically like, you know Killmonger was right. We should use our technology to help others.

Well help everyone vs help who I have chosen.

MCU is setting up for an Earth as a cosmic player instead of home to the thorns in every cosmic players side. Which is neat.

Except for acting. She's a model, not an actress and it shows.

Big difference between we should rule the world and we should help the world.

But Killmonger's actual desire was for Wakanda to be the one government to rule the world.

Killmonger wanted to be Hitler with his tech.
Blacks = Germans
Any Race = Jews/World

T'Challa realized his tech could save the world.

T'Challa set up the outreach center in Oakland where his uncle was killed.

Having Shuri run it will absolutely put her on Tony Stark's radar.

The Disney (DIS) and Marvel Studios film was the number one film in the U.S. for the second weekend in a row bringing in an estimated $108 million at the box office.

"Black Panther" becomes only the fourth film ever to cross $100 million in its second weekend, joining "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," "Jurassic World," and "The Avengers." It is the second highest second weekend for a film behind only "Force Awakens."

"Black Panther" has also crossed the $700 million mark globally in just two weekends of release and will cross $400 million domestically on Sunday, its 10th day of release. The film has yet to open in China or Japan.

After its second weekend domestically, the film, starring Chadwick Boseman and directed by Ryan Coogler, is already the fifth highest grossing Marvel Studios film and will likely pass "Captain America: Civil War" and "Iron Man 3" to take the number three spot in the coming days.

I really can't believe it's doing this well. I mean, it was fine, but I think it's pretty middle of the road Marvel.

It isn’t a bad movie at all, I enjoyed it thoroughly, but let’s not act like we don’t know why it is doing this well

Probably 30% of tickets bought for the movie were by people who maybe see 0-3 movies a year and don’t give a shite about Marvel films. Could also include the amount of athletes/celebs who are renting out whole theaters for young black people to go and see the film. That’s happened twice here in Dallas alone.

Because it’s a marvel movie? It’s a cash cow

Why is this a bad thing?
