So much fraud with this stuff.

The fraud doesn't really occur with teh end users, it occurs with vendors that accept EBT cards. That's where the crack down should focus, but the poor are the lower hanging fruit.

And this idea which just shift the fraud and abuse somewhere else. You don't think there would be massive corruption with corporations wanting their food in those packages?

so its Rouses's fault that LaToddrick is buying crab legs with his EBT card and selling the balance to his cousin for 50 cents cash on the dollar?

It isn't just the fraud, though. The program doesn't work. People that get EBT cards will buy good stuff or not cheat or whatever. Some of those folks will then use their own money to buy booze or whatever. So it basically subsidizes some of those poor choices even when so-called fraud isn't occurring. It's very similar to the "no federal dollars go to abortion" thing the government tries to pull. They still "go to" abortions because PP doesn't have to pay the rent with its abortion money.

Really? Every single time I buy boiled crawfish I'm approached by an EBT card holder asking if they buy my food if I will give them money.

Lolololol.

So you’re saying that the people selling their food stamps for half price aren’t committing fraud? Am I reading that right?

You are probably right. Let's don't do anything or try anything new at all. Let's just accept the situation and not change anything.

Sounds like this is what you are saying.

If the government sends out 20% of assistance in food products rather than as food stamps, this is a 20% DECREASE in in food stamps that are being abused.

Pretty significant decrease. Liquor stores aren't going to accept cheese or vegetables as payment.

All you need to get food stamps in California is a pulse. Fraud is so rampant that it might even make you sick.

If Customer X tries to buy cigarettes with his EBT card, and Business Y let's him ring up 2 or 3 Mountain Dews to offset the price, they are both at fault.

Sounds like a good idea for a coporate sponsor. They donate the food, the taxpayers save money.
