Well that guy is me. I asked the original question just to bait him into conversation. We do exactly what he is against. We are well in the law and I know it would piss him off that it’s done up and down all over the flyway.

It is a legit question. He wont see that as fact because it isnt convienent for him.

This reminds me off deer hunters who get mad that their neighbor spent big money on habitat improvement and does not rifle hunt so that the deer stay on his land

What a clown. Half of his comments sound like illiterate garbage. His "facts" are nothing more than opinions that will get him laughed out of any serious discussion. The sad fact of it is, there are enough dumbasses in this state that actually believe what he's saying.

I'm just going to laugh if he somehow accomplishes his goal and hunting flooded rice fields in Louisiana gets banned along with the flooded corn. They bitch about corn flooded up to the stalks, but then hunt over rice that is flooded to the grains...lmao!

I for one hope they come over here to "protect their organization" and "light" us up.

Ask him if he had permission would he hunt a flooded, unharvested field in LA if there were 3000 unmolested mallards using it.

Guilty on both counts...lol...depends though, McNeese is no LSU, but there were still 8k people there. If they were in the ag building at any point, we prolly crossed paths...lmao!

That clown Goins doesn't know the difference between fact and opinion. Saying now he would understand if we were arguing against an opinion or theory he has, but what he has is fact and we are just ignorant for arguing it.

Goins is an idiot. I'm all about what they're fighting for, but they're being led by a schizo with a 3rd grade reading level. The minute he opens his hillbilly mouth or tries to write a paragraph the whole argument loses value. He has taken his ball and ran home every time someone brings up legitimate concerns outside of his tunnel vision. Blind leading the blind. Ultimately it's a large embarrassment to our state, and a national joke in the waterfowl biology community around the country.

This is exactly how I see it. It's an embarassment, because it's either his way, or the highway.

My whole issue with him is his stubborn adherance to "normal agricultural operation" in arguing against flooded corn. Last I checked, there are no recommendations on how to terminate a crop, which is what flooding corn is doing.

He also seems to have difficulty realizing that there is no difference between an unharvested ratoon crop (2nd crop) of rice and flooded corn field. Unless someone is telling him that a ratoon is natural vegetation, it's no different. It's flooded standing grain. And since it's considered an agricultural practice to harvest that grain, I don't see a difference. If you leave it standing, it's not a normal agricultural practice. He even argued that crawfish rice is not a normal practice.

So how is the ratoon different?

It is different because one of goins lil butt buddies claimed that ducks dont eat the long grain rice grown in Louisiana.

That's how anyone with common sense will recognize this guy for what he is--a fraud.

I went back and read that hoopla some more.

We lose a football field of duck wintering habitat in Louisiana every hour, and the drop off in rice farming by the thousands of acres is so drastic you can see the change on Googe Earth. But those issues don't seem to be addressed on that page.

Everyone thinks of Stuttgart, AR as the duck capital of the world, but it's only true because they are the rice capital. Rice comes before duck on their welcome sign. That's not an accident.

I guess you could at least argue that standing rice is used normally as food source for crawfish. Not that I’m siding with these guys.
