Give me a 6.8SPC II if it’s going SBR.

I have one rifle in .338 Federal, a Savage Hog Hunter.
So far I like it, ammo is a bit expensive because the only people that make ammo for it is, you guessed it, Federal.
The recoil is not bad, similar to a .308 (the parent case). Ammo is not hard to find, just be prepared to pay roughly 22 to 30 dollars for a box of 20 rounds.

Not sure why $30 ammo makes you cry.

Ammo Seek has a lot of places with it for sale.

Been hunting with the .338 Federal for a few years now. Dropped three deer this year ranging from 100 to 150 yards. All dropped with one shot and zero recovered projectiles. My savage is accurate, light, and recoil is a non issue. I’m extremely happy with the round.

I got to play with the fix and 8.6cm back in October. A couple of the Q guys were here in Collierville.
The 8.6 is shortened 6.5cm.
I thought it was interesting that the barrel is 1:3 twist. I have no use for one but it’s pretty neat round.
