When you travel what is your motivation to see certain places?

History?
Culture?
Food?
Sights?
For me I like the history of most of Europe, they have so much history compared to the United States and a lot of places can still be visited. After that it is mainly the culture. I enjoy just kinda lounging around and taking my time in the evenings to drink and talk to locals.

I like to eat well and drink well, while experiencing a culture totally unlike my own.
I hate the idea of all inclusive resorts. And a guided tour (with a few exceptions) is something I avoid at all costs.
A few sights are great, but I’d rather hang out at a local pub and meet people or stay at an AirBnB and have breakfast with the owners.

I'd be fine with that if I was headed to a beach area and just wanted to lounge on the beach.

I can only lounge on a beach for a half day, day at the most and then I get antsy.

I enjoy the History and its significance.
For example, walking to the Old North church in Boston, down the same streets some of our most important Americans walked 250 + years ago, is exhilarating to me .
On a personal note, things like the 9/11 museum, it allowed me some closure to that tragedy, as I've posted, was on top of the Towers just a couple of weeks before 9/11.

Foods low on my priority list. Sights/scenic and history areas are primaries
