this has nothing to do with trump or any political party or a photo opt. its a way to say thank you to our military. it has been suggested they might do it annually each year on veterans day.

the parade is a way to honor and celebrate the military for all they do for us. a day to come out and thank and cheer them for the sacrifice they make to keep us all safe

anyone who cant get behind supporting and celebrating our military can just go frick themselves

I'm going to help you out here.

I was in the military. And, if you asked any random group of 100 Soldiers, 99 would say, "ya wanna thank me?............well, we can start by not ADDING work to me.........making me travel to DC away from my family........and marching 5 miles...........a 4 day weekend is thanks enough".

This is a huge problem with some of y’all. The over dramatic conclusions you jump to is insane. America isn’t the best at math? YOU HATE AMERICA. Saying hold on claiming the Vegas shooter was Muslim until the facts come out? YOURE KNIGHTING FOR ISIS!! Saying this parade is a dumb idea? YOU HATE THE MILITARY.

I know you don’t have any middle of the road opinions and neither does anyone you know, but in reality there are people that can disagree and not be the other extreme.

On Veteran's Day, there is nothing I'd rather do more as a veteran than to sit on my arse for one day and have the day off. The last thing I'd want to be doing on the planet is marching on Capitol Hill.

So to thank our military, we're going to make them work on a holiday and weekend?

Those of you who haven't been in the military just don't understand what a HUGE clusterfrick it is for even Brigade size event.

I can't even fathom the levels of suck that are going to occur for a national-level parade in DC.

By having them work another holiday? These dog and pony shows were not appreciated that way by the guys I served with. Not sure if it is still the case today, but we had guys on our ship that qualified for food stamps. There were much easier and more effective ways of showing appreciation, if that were truly the goal.

I'll go to places like Arlington, Gettysburg, or Normandy if I want to honor our military.
