Let's face it, with all the evidence that has been leaked the most likely conclusion Mueller will come to is that any true collusion happened on part of the DNC and the Hillary campaign. I base this in part on what we know and what has been leaked but debunked (Deutsche Bank, Comey memo, etc).

I think the Russian lawyer/Don Jr meeting is going to be one part of the smoking gun (HRC's campaign not disclosing the Fusion payments in their campaign finance reports being another, Ohr's wife working for Fusion while Ohr was Steele's DOJ contact being another, Steele's stated hatred and bias against Trump being yet another, possibly more coming).

So pay close attention: Mueller. Will. NOT. Be. Fired.

Also pay close attention to all the Mueller knighting going on in the media and from the Democrats. They're trying to will into being that Trump fires him so they can have a "gotcha" moment. Once his findings come out and there's no "there" there they will turn on him quick as lightning.

I agree.

And, I don't think he should be.

And, I don't think Trump wants him fired.

Of course he isn't.

Special counsel by their own nature are a beast that goes on years and years and doesn't stop until they run out of oxygen and/or someone or something makes them stop completely.

Doesn't matter.

Mueller should've never been appointed to begin with in the first place because there was no basis for doing so and Rosenstein should've been fired for this.

Totally agree with you on this. Bad optics if Mueller gets canned, no matter what the evidence is. Let it play out.

I guess giving him free reign to basically investigate whatever turned out to be a good move.

One of the biggest issues is Rothenstein not keeping the narrow scope of his original requirements and allowing this to turn from collusion into obstruction. It's all bullshite.

Even if such fishing expeditions violate the principle of the 4th amendment with one reason being the fact that there's no confirmed crime involving the Trump campaign/admin?

I concur with OP. Fire him and he becomes a martyr. He’s boxed in and will have no choice but to exonerate Trump. Left spent the last few months lionizing Mueller as the next Elliott Ness. 9d Othello being played by the Magnificent One of the Color Which Cannot Be Rhymed.

The scope of the mandate was not what you could call "narrow" when it's actually the opposite. That's how abusive fishing expeditions start.

He's basically disappeared and wants nothing to do with Mueller at all. He just gave him a broad mandate and went on a huge vacation.

Rosenstein needs to be fired.

Agreed but it may well be that the reason this went forward in the first place (the purposeful distortion of data for the FISA warrant) may be the thing that gets Rosenstein (and anyone else that signed the authorizations and possibly the re-authorizations) not just fired but prosecuted for violating the 4th Amendment. Even moreso if it's ever proven that this false pretense was done to keep Trump from winning the Presidency or unseat him afterwards.

didn't they say Mueller could go anywhere the investigation takes him?

Rosenstein has been proven corrupt. therefore, whatever he set up is also compromised.

You need to widen your source of news.

Rick Gates, who originally pleaded guilty, has recently fired 3 of his 4 criminal lawyers and hired a lawyer who specializes on negotiating plea agreements.

Looks like his looking to change his plea in exchange for cooperation.

In case you didn't know, Gates was Paul Manafort's business partner.

Many think Trump fears Manafort, and the information he might have, more than anyone else involved in the Russia investigation.

Nor should he.

Nor does the memo today have anything to do with his investigation.

He won't find anything about Trump anyway. We all know there's no collusion and it's just a media smear campaign.

Its easy to find something that is there.

It takes more time to find something that is not there.

I still predict that Mueller is NOT going away without something so he will find some kind of legally novel basis to find that some Trump committed some kind of Obstruction of Justice.

I've got plenty, that's how I am so often proven right.

If you didn't know, Gates and Manafort worked both for Mercury and The Podesta Group as unregistered foreign lobbyists. They were brought into The Podesta Group specifically for their access to the Ukrainian President.

They are charged with Conspiracy Against the United States , Conspiracy to Launder Money, multiple counts of Failure to File Reports of Foreign Bank and Financial Accounts, Unregistered Agents of a Foreign Principal, False and Misleading FARA Statements, and False Statements.

"Many" also think believe the dossier has been largely corroborated. It hasn't and I challenge you to prove differently (provide links).

The activities they are charged with (dealing with foreign entities) were well before Manafort came to work for Trump.

Mueller should be gone.

If he gives findings negative to Trump, they have no credibility.
If he gives findings negative to Dems, they will cite his meeting with Trump just prior to becoming SC, and the in-fighting will just continue.

He's an epic failure and an epic waste of time and money. And we have Jeff Sessions to blame for this.
